Angular contrast display
Volkrome is an angular contrast display in charcoal on a pale sheet, shown above a photograph of a domed building: wide capitals with fine curves, sharp junctions, small star counters and a sweeping joined centre, with two credits above and the name set across the foot.

Sturdy stroke walls and open counters weed cleanly on adhesive vinyl, HTV apparel film, and cut cardstock.
Visual anatomy & craft review
The plate sets the photograph above the word rather than behind it, which is a neat way to show a display face: the image supplies context and the word gets a clean ground to be judged on. The drawing is an angular contrast display: the stems are heavy, the joins are fine and sharp, the counters carry small star shapes, and the middle of the word runs together in a sweep, which is the detail to check before setting a longer name. That construction sets a large size floor and a smooth stock. The two credits above are plain and small. Because the letters are wide and angular, the face suits a masthead, a poster and a label for an architectural subject.

Concrete hierarchy, scale and production guidance tailored to Volkrome’s stroke geometry.
An angular contrast display sets an architecture title, and the sharp junctions echo a drawn elevation. Precision suits a subject built to a drawing.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Set the title at 90 mm cap height across 200 mm, the subtitle in a 9.5 pt serif, and the year at 8 pt. Print one ink on a coated stock and keep 22 mm margins.
Pre-production check
Check the title at 90 mm, where a fine join can break on coated stock; proof it. Confirm the 8 pt year survives lamination and that the joined centre clears the trim.
A contrast display gives a practice a mark with drawn precision, and the star counters make a short name memorable. A practice needs a mark that reads as drawn.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Set the mark at 20 pt on a card, 95 mm on a panel and 13 pt on a letterhead, keeping the star counters only above 22 pt. Keep one colour and hold clear space equal to the cap height.
Pre-production check
Check the 13 pt letterhead mark, where a star counter can close; keep the size above 15 pt. Confirm the panel mark reads at eight metres and that the joins hold in vinyl.
An angular display gives a modern wedding sign a drawn character, and the wide capitals carry a couple's names on one line.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
A1 board: the greeting at 85 mm cap height, the names at 42 mm, and the date at 20 mm. Keep 35 mm margins and paint one colour on a pale board. Leave 40 mm of wall above the board for air.
Pre-production check
Check the board at five metres, where a fine join can disappear; keep it above 2 mm. Confirm the 20 mm date reads from the door and that the names clear the border.
