Modern elegant serif with alternates
Megalme is a modern elegant serif in black on cream: thin light capitals, extreme contrast, a huge swash that leaves the M and loops over the whole word, and an e whose tail extends into a long curved stroke, with corner labels naming it modern and stylish.

Crisp hairline serifs shine on stationery, foil stamping, and packaging; add slight offset for small decals.
Visual anatomy & craft review
The word is set as the whole page and the drawing is a display serif in a light weight: the stems are thin, the hairlines are finer still, and the serifs are short and unbracketed, so the letterforms read as drawn lines rather than masses. The M opens with a long entry swash that rises above the cap line and loops back, and the final e drops a tail that curves down and out, so the word is framed by two sweeping gestures that meet the edges of the composition. Spacing is open, which keeps the thin strokes separate and gives the swashes room, and the alternates listed on the specimen let a designer vary the endings. The ground is a plain cream with small tracked labels at the corners and a central line naming the family, so the page is entirely typographic.

A light swashed serif gives a masthead a couture signature, and the two sweeping gestures create a silhouette that a straight didone cannot provide.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Set the masthead at 110 pt across 210 mm with the M swash entering the top margin and the e tail exiting at the right, the cover lines in a 9 pt serif, and the barcode clear at the lower right. Keep the swashes inside the safe area.
Pre-production check
Check both swashes at trim, where a 5 mm margin shift can cut the M entry or the e tail; pull the masthead in. Confirm the cover lines read at newsstand distance and that the light hairlines hold on coated stock.
A light serif with one swash reads as engraved metal, and the mark scales down to a box and a bag where a heavier display face would look clumsy.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Set the mark at 30 pt with the M swash enabled, and build a 14 pt version without the swash for the box and a 10 mm stamp. Keep the mark one colour and leave clear space equal to half the cap height.
Pre-production check
Check the 14 pt box version, where the thin stems can fall below 0.15 pt; increase the weight for small sizes. Confirm the stamp at 10 mm holds the serifs and that the mark reads on a dark ground reversed.
A light serif sets names with a couture elegance, and the swashes can be used on the invitation but dropped on the small place cards where they would break.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
A5 portrait: the names at 30 pt with the swash on the first capital, the details in a 9 pt serif, and the reply card at the same weight without the swash. Keep 22 mm margins and print letterpress in one ink.
Pre-production check
Check the letterpress die, where a hairline under 0.4 mm will not hold depth; use foil or digital for the swash. Confirm the 9 pt details stay legible and that the swash clears the trim by 10 mm on the folded card.
