Calligraphic script with elaborate swashes
Thanksgiving is a calligraphic script in black on a textured sheet: thick-thin strokes, a swash that runs back over the word from the second letter, elaborate loops below the baseline and a long tail, with a tracked caption beneath.

Visual anatomy & craft review
The word is set on one line, and the face is a calligraphic script with a lot of movement: the downstrokes are heavy and the upstrokes thin, the T opens with a curl, a swash leaves the second letter and sweeps back across the whole word, the g and the v throw loops below the baseline, and the final g drops a long tail that curls away. Those swashes are drawn at the same weight as the letters rather than as hairlines, which makes the face read as something written with a broad nib, and the loops are large enough to fill the space under the word. Two tracked capital lines sit above and below, one introducing the face and one naming it, and the ground is a textured white sheet with a faint botanical wash at the foot. Thanksgiving is a script for seasonal cards, menus, packaging and invitations, and it needs a wide measure, a large size and space below the baseline for the loops.

Concrete hierarchy, scale and production guidance tailored to Thanksgiving’s stroke geometry.
A swashed script sets a warm seasonal tone, and the heavy strokes read right across a table where a fine script would fade.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 130 by 200 mm menu: set the heading at 44 pt on one line, keep 26 mm of clear ground beneath before the courses at 9.5 pt, and hold 16 mm of margin on all four sides.
Pre-production check
The loops below the baseline need room; set the whole menu before proofing so they clear the text beneath.
A calligraphic greeting turns a small card into something kept, and the swash fills a narrow card that has no ornament on it.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 90 by 60 mm card: set the greeting at 20 pt on one line, keep 8 mm of clear ground beneath before the note at 7.5 pt, and hold 6 mm of margin on all four sides.
Pre-production check
A swash at twenty points can run past the trim; measure the line and centre it before printing.
A warm script titles a feature about harvest cooking, and the loops give the page a gesture that a serif could never make.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 240 by 300 mm opener: set the title at 60 pt on one line, keep 24 mm of clear ground beneath before the standfirst at 11 pt, and hold 20 mm of margin on all four sides.
Pre-production check
A thick script over a food photograph can compete; place it on a pale area and proof the spread.
