Visual anatomy & craft review
Spooky Halloween is a bouncy calligraphy script with a tall spiralled S, looped k and y stems and curved swash terminals, drawn in a medium weight with clean solid strokes and no gore. The bounce gives a short greeting movement, and the spiral terminals extend past the word, so the layout needs outer margin. It needs roughly 18 mm for the spirals to read as drawn loops rather than blots, and it is at its best in one dark ink on a misty or warm-neutral ground.

Curled script reads as a hand-lettered invitation rather than a horror graphic, which suits an adult Halloween dinner. The bounce keeps a two-word greeting lively at 24 mm.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Card 105 x 148 mm, greeting 20 mm with 8 mm loop allowance, message 7/10 pt, 12 mm margins. Tag 45 x 80 mm, word 9 mm, hole 5 mm clear. Sign 400 x 300 mm, word 70 mm.
Pre-production check
Spiral terminals at 9 mm on a small tag close into dots. Keep the loops on the card and sign, and use a plain companion on tags that small.
Bouncy calligraphy reads as a written invitation to a harvest supper, and the spirals give a short phrase a finished end. Medium weight holds at 14 mm.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Card 105 x 148 mm, greeting 18 mm, message 7/10 pt, 12 mm margins. Label 70 x 50 mm, word 12 mm, 4 mm die margin. Menu 148 x 210 mm, header 20 mm, courses 9/13 pt.
Pre-production check
Menus are read on a table under low light, and an 18 mm script header works while a 9 pt course name does not. Keep courses in a plain serif at 9 pt or above, and test one menu in the room.
A curled script carries gratitude with a handmade register, and the even weight prints on textured stock. The loops give a short message a settled close.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Card 105 x 148 mm, greeting 16 mm, message 7/10 pt, 12 mm margins. Tag 50 x 90 mm, word 9 mm, hole 5 mm clear. Print 210 x 297 mm, greeting 48 mm, 30 mm margins.
Pre-production check
Textured card breaks a 0.3 mm connector and the phrase reads in pieces. Print one proof on the actual stock, and raise the greeting size if the joins break.
