Tall high-contrast serif with looping figure-eight extensions in regular and slant
Baulgante is an elegant high-contrast serif in which the stems stay narrow, the bowls round broadly and repeated figure-eight extensions loop above and below the line, and the family ships in regular and slant so a suite can shift its axis.

Crisp hairline serifs shine on stationery, foil stamping, and packaging; add slight offset for small decals.
Visual anatomy & craft review
The B keeps two narrow bowls between fine joins, the a and t send paired figure-eight loops below the baseline, the ascending strokes cross above the x-height and the slant cut leans the same skeleton without changing the contrast. The paired loops are the character: they arrive in twos rather than singly, which is why the sample sets one ornamental word on a plain ground. Because the extensions overlap neighbouring letters, the face needs generous tracking from 24 pt, and a word with several looped letters needs more space than the default fit allows. The pale shadowed field and the small caption are presentation; the black ornamental word is the face.

Concrete hierarchy, scale and production guidance tailored to Baulgante’s stroke geometry.
The looping extensions give a name ceremony, and the narrow stems keep a long pair of names readable at 30 pt on heavy card with open tracking.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 130 by 180 mm card: set the names at 30 pt with 60 units of tracking, keep 26 mm below the paired loops, and set the venue at 9 pt in a neutral serif in the lower third.
Pre-production check
Paired loops printed tight against the line below read as a smudge; check the proof and keep 22 mm of clear ground under the lowest loop.
The slant cut gives a bottle label movement, and the fine contrast stays clear at 18 pt on a narrow 38 mm panel where an upright cut would sit stiff.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 38 by 65 mm label: set the house name at 18 pt in the slant cut, keep 6 mm from each die edge so the loops survive the cut, and set the volume in a 6 pt caps at the foot.
Pre-production check
A slant cut printed at 14 pt on a small panel loses the hairlines; check the proof and keep the name at 16 pt or above.
The looping serif sets a luxury tone, and the narrow stems hold a two-word title at 58 pt across a photographic spread without covering the image.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 210 mm spread: set the title at 58 pt on the calm band of the photograph, keep the paired loops clear of the caption by 18 mm, and set the caption in a 9 pt caps.
Pre-production check
Fine loops printed over a bright highlight vanish; check the spread and place the title on a mid tone or a darkened band.
