Visual anatomy & craft review
Sixties Hippie is a heavy nineteen-sixties flower-power poster face drawn in the Fillmore manner: bulbous stems that swell and narrow, letters interlocked so one overhangs the next, and small flower cuts set into the counters. The interlock grows a word wide and the flower cuts close first when the face shrinks. It needs roughly 34 mm for the flower and the swell to read, and it is best in two warm inks on cream, or one ink plus paper where the flowers read as knockouts on a tinted ground.

A Fillmore-style face reads as a hand-drawn sixties poster rather than a modern flyer, which is what a retro weekend wants at the gate. The interlock holds at 150 mm on a poster, and two warm inks print the poster and the tote from one separation.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Poster A2, word 150 mm with 15 mm flower clearance, details 44 mm, 20 mm margins. Stage banner 3000 x 800 mm, word 260 mm, 60 mm safe edge. Tote print 300 x 300 mm, word 70 mm, 25 mm margins.
Pre-production check
Screen printed on a tote at 70 mm the flower cuts bridge and fill after a wash. Use a 2 mm stencil bridge, and wash one sample before the order.
A flower-power face announces a themed birthday through the lettering alone. The flowers hold at 44 mm on an invite, and two warm inks print the invite and the banner as one set.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Invite A6, word 44 mm with 12 mm flower clearance, details 8/11 pt, 12 mm margins. Topper 130 x 110 mm, word 48 mm with a 6 mm stick slot and 12 mm clear. Banner 1500 x 400 mm, word 150 mm, 30 mm safe edge.
Pre-production check
A 130 mm topper cut through a flower cut leaves a 1 mm island that falls out. Cut toppers to the outer silhouette, and test one before the party.
A Fillmore face turns a retrospective page into its own period bill. The interlock holds at 72 pt on a coated cover, and two warm inks keep the flowers open against a cream ground.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Cover 210 x 297 mm, title 72 pt with 12 mm flower clearance, cover lines 10/14 pt over two columns of 82 mm, 18 mm margins and a 12 mm head. Opener 56 pt. Pull quote 40 pt.
Pre-production check
At 40 pt on the pull quote the flower cuts fill and the quote reads as a warm block. Keep the face at 52 pt and above, and proof one spread at 1:1.
