Visual anatomy & craft review
Groovy Deluxe is a soft nineteen-seventies poster family with several weights and a swash set: rounded balloon stems, a gentle italic lean, wide bowls and swashes that curl off the caps. The rounded weight keeps the face friendly rather than aggressive, and the swashes extend the word at both ends. It needs roughly 26 mm for the rounded bowl and the swash to read, and it is best in two warm inks on cream, or one saturated colour on white where the balloon stems stay solid.

A soft groovy family reads as a hand-painted summer poster rather than a modern flyer, which is what a small festival wants on a fence. The balloon stems hold at 120 mm, and two warm inks print the poster and the menu from one artwork.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Poster A2, word 120 mm with 14 mm swash clearance, details 36 mm, 20 mm margins. Menu 150 x 300 mm, header 44 mm, drinks 12 mm. Wristband 250 x 25 mm, word 8 mm, 3 mm margins.
Pre-production check
On a 250 x 25 mm wristband the balloon bowl closes and the word reads as a grey stripe. Use the light cut or a plain sans on the band, and check one printed band before the event.
A groovy soft family sets a decade-themed birthday without a costume, because the swashes do the era work on the invite. The rounded stems hold at 36 mm, and two inks print the invite and the banner as one set.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Invite A6, word 36 mm with 10 mm swash clearance, details 8/11 pt, 12 mm margins. Topper 130 x 110 mm, word 44 mm with a 6 mm stick slot and 12 mm clear. Banner 1500 x 400 mm, word 150 mm, 30 mm safe edge.
Pre-production check
A 130 mm laser-cut topper drops the swash curl under 1 mm and it snaps off in the machine. Cut the topper without the swash and print the curl, and test one before the party.
A soft groovy family gives a record shop the look of a hand-lettered sleeve rather than a retail logo. The swash set lets the shop name run long across a bag at 40 mm, and two inks print the bag and the sleeve from one file.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Bag print 200 x 250 mm, word 40 mm with 10 mm swash clearance, 15 mm margins. Sleeve 300 x 300 mm, word 60 mm, 20 mm margins. Card 85 x 55 mm, word 16 mm, 5 mm margins.
Pre-production check
On a paper bag at 40 mm the swash crosses the fold line and the curl breaks along the crease. Keep the word 15 mm clear of the fold, and fold one bag before the order.
