Star-filled bordered display
Shining Star is a novelty display in red, white and blue on a starred field: rounded capitals drawn with a heavy outer border and a white keyline, each letter filled with small stars and edged with dots, with a smaller first line above and a tracked line beneath.

Sturdy stroke walls and open counters weed cleanly on adhesive vinyl, HTV apparel film, and cut cardstock.
Visual anatomy & craft review
The two words are stacked in different sizes and the face is a novelty alphabet: each capital is a container filled with small stars, edged with dots and closed by a heavy border, so the word reads as bunting at a glance rather than as lettering. That construction makes the counters decorative rather than functional, which is why the face works at large sizes and on fabric, and the plate sets it large enough that the stars are legible individually. The starred field behind the words is staging that repeats the fill and sets the patriotic context. Because the border is heavy, the letters hold on a shirt, and the alternation of red, white and blue shows how the colours can be distributed across a word without a second design decision.

Concrete hierarchy, scale and production guidance tailored to Shining Star’s stroke geometry.
A star-filled display sets a patriotic banner without a separate graphic, and the heavy borders hold on vinyl cut for an outdoor wall.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print 1,200 by 400 mm: the greeting at 130 mm cap height, the date in a 30 mm sans, and three colours on a light vinyl. Keep 30 mm margins and keep the star fill above 3 mm.
Pre-production check
Check the banner at eight metres, where the small stars can close; keep them above 5 mm. Confirm the 30 mm date reads at four metres and that the eyelets clear the block.
A novelty face prints as three screens and looks like a shop-bought shirt, which is exactly what a themed celebration wants.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 250 mm chest graphic: the slogan at 60 mm cap height, the year at 30 mm, and three inks on a light shirt. Keep the smallest star at 4 mm and place the graphic 80 mm below the collar.
Pre-production check
Check the screen at actual mesh, where a 4 mm star can fill; simplify the fill at that size. Wash-test one shirt and confirm the stars stay open after five cycles.
A star-filled alphabet reads at a distance as bunting, which suits a fair where the sign has to compete with stalls and flags.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
A2 print: the headline at 100 mm cap height, the times in a 22 mm sans, and the field at 10 mm. Keep 28 mm margins and print three colours on a light stock.
Pre-production check
Check the A2 at four metres, where the star fills can merge; keep the star gaps above 2 mm. Confirm the 10 mm field reads at arm's length and that the sign clears the trim.
