Expressive dry-pen signature script with wide open loops and long flat crossings
Santa Catalina is an expressive signature script in which the strokes carry a dry-pen edge, the capitals open into wide loops and the crossbars run long and flat past the letters.

Visual anatomy & craft review
The capital S draws as a tall loop that closes on itself before the pen moves on, and the lowercase that follows stays loose: the a closes an open bowl, the n keeps a wide shoulder, the t crosses with a stroke that runs well past the stem and the l rises into a narrow loop. Weight varies within each letter — heavier on the downstrokes, thinning where the pen lifts — and the edges are slightly dry, which is what makes the face read as written with a felt pen rather than drawn with a brush. Descenders on the second word run low and finish in a flat tail. Because the strokes are wide, the face holds at 24 pt on a card. The white ground, the black ink, the soft blush in the corner and the two caption lines are presentation; the script is the two words.

The signature works as a personal mark at 16 pt on a card while the dry edge keeps it from looking like a system font, which matters for a studio selling individuality.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 90 by 50 mm business card: set the studio name at 16 pt across the upper half, set the contact lines in a 6 pt sans at the foot, and keep 10 mm of clearance below the descender so the card does not look crowded.
Pre-production check
A dry edge can print as a broken stroke at 16 pt; check the printed card and confirm the minimum line weight with the printer before the run.
The loose signature suits a small informal ceremony, and the long crossings fill a modest card at 26 pt without extra ornament.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 105 by 148 mm card: set both names at 26 pt on one line, set the date and place in a 8 pt caps serif below, and hold 16 mm between the names and the details so the descender clears.
Pre-production check
A long flat crossbar can extend past the trim on a narrow card; check the longest name in the run and reduce the point size rather than condensing.
The signature reads on a narrow label at 12 pt and gives a plain jar a hand-made character that a plain sans would flatten into a supermarket look.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 40 by 70 mm label: set the maker's name at 12 pt, set the scent in a 5 pt caps sans beneath, and leave 5 mm of margin so the looped capital stays clear of the label edge.
Pre-production check
A looped capital printed near a curved label edge distorts; check one labelled jar and keep the signature on the flat centre of the label.
