Swashed romantic holiday display serif with dangling ornaments
Saintly Christmas is a festive display serif in which the capitals throw long swashes, the serifs are fine and small ornaments hang from the ends, so a greeting reads as a decorated holiday plate.

Sturdy stroke walls and open counters weed cleanly on adhesive vinyl, HTV apparel film, and cut cardstock.
Visual anatomy & craft review
The capital S opens into a wide swash that travels above the following letters, the C on the second word repeats a similar gesture downward, and the small letters keep a moderate contrast with fine bracketed serifs. Weight sits in the stems, and the swashes are drawn as fine ribbons rather than heavy strokes, which is what keeps the composition light at 40 pt. The dangling ornaments in the sample are separate glyphs, and they are the practical detail: they need to be placed rather than typed, or they land on the wrong letter. Because the swashes cross the line, the face wants generous leading when stacked. The pale ground, the red ink, the fir and berries, the small snowflakes and the two caption lines are presentation; the serif is the two words.

Concrete hierarchy, scale and production guidance tailored to Saintly Christmas’s stroke geometry.
The long swashes give a holiday card its ornament without illustration, and the moderate weight keeps both words readable at 32 pt.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 148 by 105 mm card: set the greeting at 32 pt in two lines with 14 mm leading, set the family name in a 7 pt caps serif at the foot, and keep 16 mm of margin so the swash stays inside the trim.
Pre-production check
A swash crossing the line above needs room; check the proof and open the leading by 3 mm rather than shortening the ribbon.
The swashed serif reads on a kraft hamper label at 13 pt, and the fine serifs give a plain brown box a decorated finish on the table.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 70 by 50 mm kraft label: set the greeting at 13 pt, set the contents in a 5 pt caps serif beneath, and keep 5 mm of margin so the swash and the hanging ornament stay clear of the label edge.
Pre-production check
Kraft closes a fine swash into a line; check a printed label on the actual stock and use the plain cut where the swash is below 3 mm.
The decorated serif reads at 12 cm through a doorway, and the fine swashes give a seasonal sign a formal register rather than a novelty one.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 600 by 400 mm panel: set the greeting at 12 cm across the upper half, set the dates in a 4 cm caps serif below, and leave 8 cm of border so the hanging ornaments are not cut by the frame.
Pre-production check
Hanging ornaments printed at 12 cm read as marks unless they are placed deliberately; check the artwork at full size and anchor each one to a letter.
