Angular playful capitals with long horizontal extensions
Playful Children is a hand-drawn capital alphabet in which the letters are angular, the arms run long and some strokes extend past the letter body, so a word reads as something drawn with a ruler-free marker.

Visual anatomy & craft review
The P holds a squared bowl on a straight stem, the L keeps one long arm, the A carries a low crossbar and a hooked leg, and the Y forks with one arm reaching further than the other, all at a heavy even weight with flat ends. The extensions are the character: crossbars on the A and the H overshoot, and the legs of the R and the Y drop below the baseline, which is what gives the face its movement at 40 pt. Because the shapes are simple and evenly weighted, the letters can take a different colour each without breaking the rhythm, which is how the sample uses them. The fit is loose, so a short word fills a wide format. The white ground, the coloured fills, the two credits and the small caption are presentation; the lettering is the two words.

Concrete hierarchy, scale and production guidance tailored to Playful Children’s stroke geometry.
The angular letters stay friendly and legible on a worksheet at 22 pt, and the long extensions give a printed sheet movement without an illustration.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print an A4 activity sheet: set the heading at 22 pt across the top margin, set the instructions in an 11 pt sans at 15 pt leading, and keep 10 mm below the heading so the descending legs do not touch the first line.
Pre-production check
Long legs below the baseline can run into text; check the page at final size and open the gap rather than shortening the letters.
The extended forms fill a printed name panel at 20 cm, and the per-letter colour lets one print carry a party palette without extra artwork.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 600 by 400 mm panel: set the name at 20 cm, keep 4 cm between letters so the extensions stay separate, and leave 6 cm of border so the longest arm is not cropped by the frame.
Pre-production check
Frame openings crop more than expected; check the mount size against the artwork and keep all strokes inside 90 percent of the printed area.
The drawn capitals give a play centre a mark that reads at 9 mm on a wristband and at 200 mm on a wall without changing shape.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 90 by 50 mm card: set the centre name at 16 pt across the upper half, set the opening hours in a 6 pt rounded sans below, and keep 8 mm of clearance so the descending leg does not touch the hours block.
Pre-production check
Extending legs are lost when a logo is reproduced small; check the wristband print at actual size and shorten the leg for that item only.
