Visual anatomy & craft review
Milkshakehoney pairs a clean geometric uppercase sans with a tall-looped monoline script: the sans is a wide, even-width capital set for signage and labels, while the script is a thin monoline with high loops that rise well above the x-height and joins that stay open. The pair gives one card a printed voice and a hand-written line and works from a single ink. The monoline hairline is the finest element and it breaks first. The sans needs roughly 20 mm and the script 30 mm for their detail to read.

A geometric capital set with a tall-looped script gives a wedding a printed voice and a hand-written name from one palette. The script signs the names at 30 pt, and the sans sets the details in capitals at 12 pt.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Invitation 130 x 180 mm, script 30 pt with 10 mm loop clearance, sans 12 pt, details 9/13 pt, 18 mm margins. Menu 120 x 210 mm, sans 16 pt, courses 9/12 pt. Sign 600 x 400 mm, script 90 mm, 25 mm margins.
Pre-production check
On a 600 x 400 mm sign the thin monoline appears to fade under the venue lights and the name reads as a grey line. Keep the script at 90 mm or above and set it in one solid ink, and inspect one sign before hanging.
A wide capital sans with a slim looped script reads as a considered café mark rather than a chain logo. The sans holds at 30 mm on a cup, and the script signs the decal at 60 mm in one order.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Cup print 70 x 50 mm, sans 18 mm with 5 mm clearance, 5 mm margins. Decal 400 x 200 mm, script 60 mm, 25 mm margins. Card 85 x 55 mm, sans 12 pt, script 24 mm, 6 mm margins.
Pre-production check
A 70 x 50 mm cup panel at 18 mm closes the monoline script into a hairline and it drops out in print. Keep the script off the cup, use the sans only, and check one cup before the order.
A wide geometric capital set gives an editorial opener a sign-like title, and the looped script signs the standfirst. The sans holds 12 pt in capitals, and the script carries the opener at 60 pt.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Opener 210 x 297 mm, script 60 pt with 10 mm loop clearance, sans standfirst 13/18 pt, body 9/13 pt over two columns of 82 mm, 18 mm margins. Spine 20 x 297 mm, sans 8 pt, 3 mm margins.
Pre-production check
On a 20 mm spine at 8 pt the wide capitals exceed the trim and get cut. Set the spine in the narrowest weight at 7 pt with 3 mm clearance, and print one cover before the run.
