Tall quirky serif-like print
Merina Sweetie is a tall playful hand-lettering with slab-like feet: narrow letters, uneven serifs, a bouncing baseline and a warm olive-brown ink on a cream ground.

Visual anatomy & craft review
Merina sits above Sweetie in the same tall narrow hand, and each letter is drawn with a small slab serif at the foot and a light one at the head, so the alphabet reads as a handwritten serif rather than as a script. The M and the S are the tallest, the e and the r are squeezed to a narrow column, the t lifts its crossbar high, and the baseline moves up and down by a couple of millimetres from letter to letter, which is what gives the pair its bounce. Behind the words a soft cream wash and a faint leaf shape keep the ground from being bare, and a taupe label at the foot reads Playful Font. The face is a friendly hand-lettered display for cards, packaging and shop signs: it needs a decent size for the serifs to read, and its narrow width means a long word still fits.

Concrete hierarchy, scale and production guidance tailored to Merina Sweetie’s stroke geometry.
A hand-lettered serif sets a warm tone without a script, and it stays readable for guests who find calligraphy hard to parse.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 450 by 300 mm board: set the greeting at 80 pt on one row, keep 22 mm of clear ground beneath before the names at 22 pt, and hold 20 mm of border on all sides.
Pre-production check
Uneven serifs can look like a printing fault at large size; print one board and check the letterfeet read as drawn before the set.
A tall hand-lettered face fits a narrow jar label, and the warm ink suits the amber colour of the preserve inside the glass.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 45 by 80 mm label: set the flavour at 15 pt on one row, keep 6 mm of clear ground beneath before the weight at 4.5 pt, and hold 4 mm from the lowest serif to the die line.
Pre-production check
Small serifs fill in on a kraft label; print one at the real size and check the e before the order.
A tall hand-lettered serif separates a lifestyle page from a news page, and the narrow width keeps a long heading on one line.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 230 by 300 mm opener: set the heading at 56 pt on one row, keep 18 mm of clear ground beneath before the standfirst at 10.5 pt, and hold 18 mm of margin on both sides.
Pre-production check
A bouncing baseline beside justified text can look misaligned; print one page and check the heading sits optically level before the issue.
