Tall condensed handwriting with light shadow
Simple Planner is a tall condensed hand-drawn display in near-black on a pale desk: narrow letters with blunt ends, a small light shadow and a level rhythm, drawn as two uppercase rows.

Visual anatomy & craft review
SIMPLE sits above PLANNER, and both words are set in capitals built from narrow vertical strokes: the S is a tight double curve, the M and the N are compressed, the A has a high crossbar and the R carries a short leg, so the pair fits a long word pair inside a portrait sheet. The strokes are even with blunt rounded ends, the letter heights are consistent and a soft shadow behind each letter lifts the words off the ground by a couple of millimetres. The ground is a pale desk with a keyboard, paper and clips at the edges, and there is no caption, which leaves the lettering to define the mood. The face is a practical handwriting for planners, notebooks and modest packaging: it is legible at small sizes, it prints in one ink, and its narrow width suits a long label.

Concrete hierarchy, scale and production guidance tailored to Simple Planner’s stroke geometry.
A narrow hand fits a long planning title on a portrait cover, and one ink on a plain board keeps a working folder cheap to produce.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print an A4 cover: set the title at 64 pt across two rows, keep 20 mm of clear ground beneath before the couple's names at 14 pt, and hold 18 mm of margin on all four sides.
Pre-production check
A light shadow turns to grey on an office printer; print one cover on the actual machine and check the edge before the set.
The narrow capitals fit long product names on slim labels, which is the usual constraint on a notebook or planner spine.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 30 by 80 mm spine label: set the product at 11 pt on one row, keep 5 mm of clear ground beneath before the size at 4 pt, and hold 3 mm of margin on both sides.
Pre-production check
Condensed strokes can close up at eleven points; print one on the real stock and check the S and the E before the order.
A plain narrow hand sets a practical tone for a feature about planning, and it holds at heading size without a second typeface.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 230 by 300 mm opener: set the heading at 50 pt on one row, keep 18 mm of clear ground beneath before the standfirst at 10.5 pt, and hold 18 mm of margin on both sides.
Pre-production check
A shadowed hand on newsprint can look sooty; print one opener on the actual stock and check the letters before the issue.
