Visual anatomy & craft review
Kids 3D Outline Shadow is a hollow-extruded cartoon block: open letters with a thick outline, an empty face where the ground shows through and a hard offset extrusion that reads as a cut cardboard shadow. The hollow face needs a light ground, and the extrusion doubles the footprint. It needs roughly 32 mm for the outline and the extrusion to read, and it is best as a one-colour cut file on a light ground, or two flat inks where the extrusion takes a darker tone.

A hollow extruded block announces a studio party through the lettering alone, and the open face keeps the word light on a busy card. The extrusion holds at 44 mm on an invite, and one ink prints the invite and the wraps as one set.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Invite A6, word 44 mm with 10 mm extrusion clearance, details 8/11 pt, 12 mm margins. Topper 130 x 110 mm, word 48 mm with a 6 mm stick slot and 12 mm clear. Cup wrap 200 x 90 mm, word 20 mm, 12 mm from the rim.
Pre-production check
A 130 mm vinyl topper cut on a hollow face leaves thin outline strokes that stretch during weeding. Weld the extrusion to the outline, and test one before the party.
A hollow extruded block turns a children's page into a cut-paper headline without heavy ink coverage. The extrusion holds at 52 pt, and one ink keeps the open face clean over a light panel.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Header 52 pt with 8 mm extrusion clearance, body 12/17 pt over two columns of 82 mm, 18 mm margins and a 12 mm head. Cover flash 90 x 60 mm, word 32 pt, 6 mm margins. Activity title 36 pt.
Pre-production check
At 36 pt on the activity title the extrusion merges with the outline and the title reads as a solid shape. Keep the face at 46 pt and above, and proof one page at 1:1.
A hollow extruded block reads as a cut cardboard sign rather than a corporate mark, which is what a toy shop wants in its window. The extrusion holds at 60 mm on a decal, and one vinyl colour covers the decal and the card print.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Window decal 600 x 400 mm, word 90 mm with 12 mm extrusion clearance, 25 mm margins. Card 85 x 55 mm, word 20 mm, 5 mm margins. Bag print 200 x 250 mm, word 50 mm, 15 mm margins.
Pre-production check
A 600 x 400 mm decal at 90 mm has 4 mm outline strokes that lift at the corners on glass. Keep outlines at 6 mm or above on vinyl, and apply one decal before the run.
