Bold cursive with a looped capital and heart-ended swashes
Kayla is a bold cursive in which the downstrokes carry weight, the capital loops high, the connected body stays compact and the swashes finish in small hearts above and below the word, so a name reads as a warm handwritten greeting.

Visual anatomy & craft review
The K opens a tall loop, the y drops a descending loop under the centre of the word, the connectors keep one heavy weight and the swash set adds strokes that cross above and below the baseline with hearts at their ends. The heavy body is the character: it keeps a bold line legible where a fine script would thin, which is why the sample sets one word with two crossing swashes. Because the loops overlap, the face needs 20 mm between baselines from 28 pt and the joins must be welded before cutting from 1.1 inches of x-height. The pale ground, the small hearts and the caption are presentation; the dark word and its swashes are the face.

The heart-ended swashes carry the tone, and the bold body keeps a short phrase readable at 30 pt on an A6 card in one ink.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print an A6 card: set the phrase at 30 pt, keep 14 mm at each end for the crossing swashes, and leave the lower half blank so a written note has room.
Pre-production check
Swash hearts printed into a written band cramp the message; check the card and keep 16 mm of clear ground under the loop.
The bold cursive reads at table distance, and the looped capital gives a first name presence at 26 pt on a folded tent card.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 90 by 50 mm tent card: set the name at 26 pt centred, keep 10 mm either side for the entry loop, and fold 20 mm from the top so the score clears every descender.
Pre-production check
A score run through a loop splits the printed stock; check the imposed card and keep the fold 8 mm below the lowest stroke.
The warm cursive suits a candle label, and the bold weight stays clear at 20 pt on a 50 mm round label with a small scent line.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 50 mm round label: set the name at 20 pt, keep 6 mm inside the die so the descending loop stays whole, and set the scent in a 6 pt caps along the lower curve.
Pre-production check
A descender loop printed across a round edge distorts; check the wrap and keep the loop on the flat panel.
