Visual anatomy & craft review
Jollyribbon is a plump slanted retro display with marshmallow-soft terminals, a forward lean and a bouncy mixed-case rhythm, disconnected throughout so nothing tangles at speed. The bowls are heavy and round, the counters small but open, and the slant gives the face the momentum of 1970s confectionery packaging. Because the terminals are soft and the weight is uniform, it holds at 15 mm on a sticker and at 150 mm on a banner, and it is at its best in one bright colour on a pale ground with a drop shadow or a keyline.

Concrete hierarchy, scale and production guidance tailored to Jollyribbon’s stroke geometry.
Plump slanted letters read as a sweet-shop sign, which is the register a toddler party wants, and soft terminals transfer onto fabric without breaking. The bounce keeps a short name from looking mechanical.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Banner letters 150 mm on 2 mm card, 5 mm hole, 30 mm margins, 40 mm pitch. Cookie sticker 50 mm round, word 8 mm, 2 mm die margin. Onesie print 110 x 80 mm, name 26 mm.
Pre-production check
Onesie prints stretch over a wriggling child, and a heavy slant can crack across the shoulder seam. Keep the artwork 20 mm below the neckline and away from seams, then wash one printed onesie twice.
A slanted plump face reads as a small-batch sweet brand, which is what a bow maker or bakery is selling on a counter card. The soft terminals hold at 8 mm on a seal where a sharper display face would look aggressive.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Card 60 x 90 mm, word 14 mm, 4 mm clearance around the punch, 5 mm trim margin. Seal 40 mm round, word 8 mm, 2 mm die margin and 3 mm clear of the release cut. Mug wrap 200 x 85 mm, word 24 mm, 10 mm from the handle with 6 mm inside the taper.
Pre-production check
A 40 mm seal with a slanted word leaves uneven margins on one side, and the seal looks off-centre. Rotate the word to match the die's centre, and print one sheet to check the visual centring before cutting.
Soft slanted letterforms read as summer packaging, and the heavy weight stays legible in bright outdoor light. One bright colour keeps a cart sign cheap.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Cart sign 600 x 400 mm, word 140 mm, 40 mm margins and 25 mm clear of any fixing hole. Invite A6, title 22 mm, details 4.5 mm on 6 mm leading, 10 mm margins. Patch 70 x 40 mm, word 12 mm, 3 mm stitched border, 4 mm from the merrowed edge.
Pre-production check
Bright ink on a sign viewed in direct sun loses contrast and the slant reads as blur. Print one sign and look at it outdoors at midday, adding a dark keyline if the shape closes into the background.
