Visual anatomy & craft review
Jesus is a playful monoline script with spiralled side wings: an even thin stroke, joined letters, a small tilt and a spiral that curls off the first and last letters as a decorative wing. The monoline keeps the face honest at small sizes, and the spirals are the finest element and close first. It needs roughly 24 mm for the spiral and the monoline to read, and it is best in one fine ink on smooth card, or a foil impression above 36 pt where the spiral still turns.

A spiralled monoline script reads as a drawn greeting rather than a printed card, which is what a family or a church wants in December. The spirals hold at 26 pt, and one fine ink prints the card, the tags and the banner in one order.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Card 105 x 148 mm, greeting 26 pt with 12 mm spiral clearance, message 8/11 pt, 14 mm margins. Tag 50 x 90 mm, word 12 mm with a 5 mm hole and 10 mm clear. Banner 1200 x 400 mm, word 140 mm, 25 mm safe edge.
Pre-production check
A 50 x 90 mm tag at 12 mm closes the spiral into a dot and the greeting reads as a comma. Raise the tag word to 16 mm, and print one tag on the actual stock before the batch.
A spiralled script gives a winter countdown a drawn title without a separate ornament. The spirals hold at 26 pt on a menu, and one deep ink on cream prints the invitation and the menu in one order.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Invitation 130 x 180 mm, names 26 pt with 12 mm spiral clearance, details 9/13 pt, 16 mm margins. Menu 120 x 210 mm, header 20 pt, courses 9/12 pt. Table card 90 x 50 mm, name 12 pt, 4 mm margins.
Pre-production check
At 12 pt on a table card the monoline lands near 0.2 mm and a laser printer breaks it into dots. Raise table cards to 18 pt, and proof one card before the set.
A spiralled monoline reads as the calligrapher's own hand rather than a logo, which is what a lettering studio wants on a card. The spirals hold at 22 mm, and one ink prints the card and the stamp in one order.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Card 85 x 55 mm, word 22 mm with 10 mm spiral clearance, details 7/9 pt, 6 mm margins. Box stamp 100 x 60 mm, word 26 mm, 6 mm margins. Wrap band 200 x 40 mm, word 16 mm, 8 mm margins.
Pre-production check
A 200 x 40 mm band at 16 mm crosses the fold and splits when wrapped. Keep the word 8 mm clear of the crease, and wrap one band before the order.
