Sturdy stroke walls and open counters weed cleanly on adhesive vinyl, HTV apparel film, and cut cardstock.
Visual anatomy & craft review
The J drops a straight descender from a flat arm, the E holds three even bars with cut corners, the R carries a straight leg and the S reverses through flat diagonal terminals rather than curves. The construction is angular: corners are cut at a slight bevel and the outer edge runs parallel to the inner fill, which is what gives the face its modern jersey look rather than a vintage collegiate one. Weight is heavy and uniform, the counters are small and rectangular, and the fit is tight so a long school name holds one line. Because the outline is a separate layer, a designer can colour the body and the edge independently. The cream ground, the brown and gold fills, the small star rule and the banner caption are presentation; the typeface is the two words.

Concrete hierarchy, scale and production guidance tailored to Jersey Modern’s stroke geometry.
The outline and inner fill let a banner carry a team colour inside a contrasting edge, and the angular construction reads at distance in a gym.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Set the team name at 100 mm on a 1.5 m banner, fill the body in the team colour and the edge in white, and leave 40 mm at each end so the outline is not cut.
Pre-production check
A two-layer outline needs accurate registration; check the pull at final size and hold the outline at 3 mm minimum.
The angular jersey face suits a hoodie back print, and the inner fill lets the lettering read on a dark garment where a plain outline would vanish.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Set the school name at 85 mm across a 300 mm back width, keep the year in the same face at 30 mm beneath, and keep 30 mm from the shoulder seam so the print stays on the panel.
Pre-production check
Screen printing an outline over a dark shirt needs a white base; check a pull on the actual hoodie and adjust the opacity rather than the design.
The outline construction gives a programme header its athletic voice at print size, and the inner fill keeps the word solid on uncoated stock.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Set the header at 56 pt across the cover, keep the fixture list in a 9 pt sans, and hold 18 mm below the header so the outline does not run into the text.
Pre-production check
An outlined face on uncoated paper spreads at the edges; check the press sheet and keep the outline at 2 mm minimum.
