Angular bordered athletic capitals with matched numerals
Brooklin Varsity is an athletic display face: heavy capitals with sharp inner corners, a white inline border running inside each stroke, and a full numeral set drawn to the same construction.

Sturdy stroke walls and open counters weed cleanly on adhesive vinyl, HTV apparel film, and cut cardstock.
Visual anatomy & craft review
Every letter is built from the same three parts: a heavy outer band, a thin inline that traces its shape, and an inner fill, so the face reads as two outlines rather than a solid letter. The A closes to a sharp apex with a flat top, the B keeps two square bowls, the C is cut square at both terminals, and the K carries an angled junction. The numerals repeat that construction exactly, which matters because lettering of this kind is usually set next to a score or a year. Corners are cut at an angle rather than rounded, the counters are tight rectangles, and there is no lowercase, so the face is built for short all-caps lines. The cracked surface, the header bands and the format badges are presentation; the typeface is the alphabet and the numerals.

The bordered construction separates a name from a number at a glance, and because the numerals are drawn to the same skeleton the whole kit looks like one design rather than a name with a borrowed font.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Set the team name at 60 mm tall across a 250 mm panel, set the number at 200 mm, and keep 15 mm between them so the inline of the name does not merge with the number's border.
Pre-production check
Tackle twill cut for an inline letter needs a bridge in the inner band; check the cut file at full size and thicken the inline if it falls below 3 mm.
The bordered caps give a yearbook a period-correct athletic voice, and the matching numerals keep scores and dates in the same visual family as the heading.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Set the header at 54 pt, set the scores in the same face at 20 pt in a table column, and keep the body in a 9.5 pt serif so the bordered caps stay the loudest element on the page.
Pre-production check
A thin inline on uncoated paper can break up at 54 pt; print the page on the actual stock and thicken the inline if it looks porous.
The bordered capitals read across a room and the numerals let the age sit in the same style, which is what makes a themed banner look deliberate rather than assembled.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Set the greeting at 70 mm on a 1.2 m banner, set the age at 90 mm beside it, and leave 30 mm on each side so the inline of the outer letters stays inside the hem.
Pre-production check
Fabric banners print with a slight dot gain that closes thin inlines; check the proof at final size and open the inline by a tenth of a millimetre if needed.
