Sturdy stroke walls and open counters weed cleanly on adhesive vinyl, HTV apparel film, and cut cardstock.
Visual anatomy & craft review
Heronium is a heavy ultra-condensed sans family with thick vertical columns, narrow flat-sided counters and a very tall x-height, so a word reads as a painted block panel rather than a normal headline. The family is built for impact in tight horizontal space, which is why it holds a long name in one line at poster scale, and the heavy fill means it needs generous tracking at small sizes. It needs roughly 36 mm for the counters to stay open, and it is best in lemon yellow on vermilion or white on a dark ground.

Heavy condensed caps read as a stadium programme, which is what a sports annual puts on a cover. The face packs a full club name plus a season into one line, and the flat fill survives a cheap two-colour print on uncoated stock.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Cover 210 x 297 mm, title 130 pt, cover lines 9/12 pt, 18 mm margins and 10 mm trim. Poster A2, word 300 mm, details 22/28 pt, 30 mm margins. Panel 600 x 300 mm, quote 120 mm, source 18 pt.
Pre-production check
A 130 pt condensed title on uncoated stock gains ink and the 2 mm counters close, so the words merge into a block. Set the title with 2 percent positive tracking, and check one printed cover before the run.
Heavy condensed panels read as performance kit, which is what a gym or a sports brand prints on a box. The narrow stance fits a long model name on a 60 mm carton edge, and the thick columns hold one ink on a dark surface at 40 mm.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Carton 60 x 140 x 30 mm, name 18 mm, weight 5 pt, 8 mm margins. Sign 900 x 300 mm, word 150 mm, 50 mm margins. Sleeve 180 x 60 mm, word 18 mm, 5 mm die margin.
Pre-production check
A 5 pt line in an ultra-condensed face is a hairline against the product name and reads as a rule, not text. Keep fine print in a wider sans, and check one assembled carton before the order.
Block condensed caps read as a season announcement, which is what a club posts when the spring fixtures open. The face holds a long club name across a 2.4 m banner in one vinyl colour, and the heavy weight is legible from a car park.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Banner 2400 x 800 mm, word 380 mm, 150 mm margins with eyelets every 500 mm and 50 mm clear. Poster A2, word 280 mm, details 22/28 pt, 30 mm margins. Header 900 x 300 mm, word 140 mm, 50 mm margins.
Pre-production check
Vinyl stretches on a windy banner and a 380 mm word bows, closing the counters on the end letters. Cut the word in segments with 25 mm overlaps, and check one tensioned banner before the fixtures start.
