Sturdy stroke walls and open counters weed cleanly on adhesive vinyl, HTV apparel film, and cut cardstock.
Visual anatomy & craft review
Headline is a heavy condensed poster sans with flat horizontal terminals, narrow flat-sided counters and uniform vertical pillars, so a word reads as a newspaper poster rather than a modern display. The condensation packs a long line into a narrow measure, and the flat terminals survive a cheap single-colour print. It needs roughly 30 mm for the narrow counters to stay open, and it is best in cobalt or black on off-white gallery stock, or white on a saturated ground.

Newspaper-poster caps read as a printed front page, which is what a broadsheet-style spread is imitating. The heavy pillars hold a five-word headline in a narrow measure at 110 pt, and the flat terminals stay crisp on newsprint stock.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Spread 420 x 297 mm, headline 120 mm, body 9/13 pt in 82 mm columns. Poster A2, word 300 mm, details 22/28 pt, 30 mm margins and 20 mm trim. Banner 1200 x 300 mm, word 140 mm, 50 mm margins.
Pre-production check
Newsprint absorbs ink and a 1 mm counter closes into a solid block at 120 mm. Set the headline at 100 mm or specify a lighter ink film, and check one pulled sheet before the run.
Condensed poster caps read as a design studio that respects a grid, which is what a small practice prints on a panel. The heavy weight holds at 400 mm on a trade stand in one colour, and the flat terminals survive a vinyl cut.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Panel 2000 x 800 mm, word 400 mm, 150 mm margins. Carton 60 x 140 x 30 mm, name 18 mm, weight 5 pt, 8 mm margins. Sign 900 x 300 mm, word 150 mm, 50 mm margins.
Pre-production check
A 5 pt condensed line reads as a hairline rule beside a 18 mm name and the version number looks like a decorative stripe. Keep fine print in a wider sans, and check one assembled carton.
Condensed poster caps read as an academic notice, which is what a department posts in a corridor. The narrow measure fits a full lecture title and a speaker on one sheet, and the flat fill prints on a house copier in one pass.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Poster A2, title 220 mm, speaker 24/30 pt, 30 mm margins and 20 mm trim. Banner 1500 x 400 mm, word 250 mm, 100 mm margins. Cover 170 x 240 mm, title 60 pt, 18 mm margins.
Pre-production check
A corridor poster read at an angle foreshortens a 220 mm condensed word into a solid band. Add 2 percent tracking to the title, and check one poster from the far end of the corridor before the run.
