Visual anatomy & craft review
Heritage is a tall condensed marker print drawn upright with a farmhouse hand, not a serif: narrow letters, level baselines, a square-shouldered stroke and small lift gaps, so a line stacks tall in a narrow sign. The condensation keeps long words inside a post, and the marker edges leave a soft ragged contour that reads as painted wood. It needs roughly 28 mm for the narrow letters to stay open, and it is best in barn red or one black on weathered board and cream.

A condensed farmhouse marker reads as a note from the grower rather than a printed greeting, which is what a farm-shop thank-you should sound like. The tall letters fit a whole sentence inside a small card, and one ink prints the card, the crate label and the tag as a set.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Card A6, greeting 16 mm, note 9/12 pt, 12 mm margins. Crate label 100 x 70 mm, word 14 mm, 5 mm die margin. Tag 40 x 90 mm, word 9 mm with a 5 mm hole and 6 mm clear.
Pre-production check
The condensed letters at 9 mm on a 40 mm tag close their lift gaps and the word reads as one grey bar. Keep the tag word at 12 mm or shorten it to one word, and print one tag before the batch.
A tall marker print painted on a post is the mark a roadside farm shop is recognised by, so the identity starts outdoors and moves inward. The condensed stroke fits the shop name on a narrow sign, and one colour paints the post, the band and the shelf card without a second pass.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Post sign 200 x 900 mm, word 120 mm, 25 mm edge clearance. Produce band 120 x 40 mm, word 12 mm, 4 mm margins. Shelf card 90 x 60 mm, word 14 mm, 5 mm margins.
Pre-production check
A painted post in one pass leaves the marker's ragged edge unresolved at 120 mm and the letters look eaten. Ask for two coats or a mask-cut vinyl, and inspect one post in daylight before the pair is set.
A condensed farmhouse hand is the lettering already chalked on a harvest stall, so a banner in it looks native to the field. The tall letters read from the car park at 200 mm, and the connected weight of the block lets a sack stencil be cut in one piece.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Banner 1500 x 500 mm, word 200 mm, 30 mm safe edge for eyelets. Stall sign 400 x 300 mm, word 80 mm, 20 mm margins. Sack stencil 300 x 200 mm, letters 70 mm with 10 mm bridges.
Pre-production check
A stencil cut from this condensed block closes the lift gap between the E and R into a 1 mm bridge and the paint floods the join. Widen the bridge to 3 mm or cut the word in two words, then spray one sack before the batch.
