Upright contrast mixed case with a broad C and clean unconnected lowercase
Cursive sets a modern serif in lowercase, with low contrast, short thin serifs and a slightly wide e, and pairs it with a small signature script line under the word.

Sturdy stroke walls and open counters weed cleanly on adhesive vinyl, HTV apparel film, and cut cardstock.
Visual anatomy & craft review
The word cursive dominates the card in charcoal on a warm off-white ground, set in lowercase at a size where the serifs and the joints are easy to see. The forms are quiet: a small bowl on the a, a short flag on the r, an e with a level bar, and serifs short enough to look like the ends of the strokes rather than like added marks. Stroke contrast is low, so the word keeps an even colour across the line. Under the word two small lines sit close together: a signature script in pale grey that names the style, and a spaced small caps line crediting the designer. The pairing is the point of the card: a serif that can carry text with a signature hand for the personal touch, which is how most stationery ends up being set. Nothing decorative happens in the letterforms, so the face depends on proportion and spacing, and it holds at both display and text sizes.

The low contrast keeps a long pair of names even in weight across the line, and the short serifs look quiet next to a script that carries the decoration instead.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 130 by 180 mm invitation: set the names at 30 pt on one row, keep 20 mm of clear ground beneath before the venue at 9 pt, and hold 16 mm of margin from the first and last letter to the card edge.
Pre-production check
Short serifs blur when a card is printed at small sizes; print one invitation at the final size and check the ends of the stems.
The low contrast holds up on uncoated paper where a high-contrast serif would sparkle, and the calm rhythm keeps a long essay comfortable over several pages.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 152 by 229 mm page: set the body at 10.5 pt on 15 pt leading, keep 22 mm of clear ground under the running head before the first line, and hold 18 mm of margin at the fore edge and 20 mm at the gutter.
Pre-production check
Ink spread closes the counters on absorbent stock; print one signature on the real paper and check the e and the a first.
The plain skeleton reads as considered rather than fashionable, and one family covers the wordmark, the address block and the invoice without a second typeface.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print an A4 letterhead: set the studio name at 26 pt across the head, keep 12 mm of clear ground beneath before the address at 8 pt, and hold 20 mm of margin at the top and 18 mm at both sides.
Pre-production check
Laser printers thicken short serifs at small sizes; print one letterhead on the office machine and compare it with the digital file.
