Heavy high-contrast looped calligraphy with swashed capitals and tight fit
Calligraphy is heavy high-contrast looped lettering in which the capitals carry wide swashes, the stems are thick and the joins are hairline, so a single word reads as a drawn flourish rather than a written line.

Visual anatomy & craft review
The capital C opens with a swash that curls above the cap line and closes into a heavy crescent, and the letters after it alternate between fat stems and thin joins: the a and the l close against their neighbours, the l and the i rise into narrow loops, the g drops a deep loop and the p and the h repeat the shaded stems. The fit is tight enough that the word reads as one continuous flourish, and the swashes at both ends extend the composition beyond the letters, which is what gives it the calligraphic look at 40 pt and above. Ends taper to fine points. The watercolour leaves, the pen nibs in the corners, the oval label and the single tracked caption are presentation; the calligraphy is the word.

Concrete hierarchy, scale and production guidance tailored to Calligraphy’s stroke geometry.
The swashed letters give an invitation its ornament without a border, and the high contrast keeps a long pair of names distinct at 26 pt on a tall card.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Set both names at 26 pt on a 120 by 180 mm card, set the details in a small caps serif at 8 pt, and hold 20 mm below the lowest loop so the details stay clear.
Pre-production check
Hairline joins under 0.1 mm drop out in offset; ask for the printer's minimum line and thicken the joins rather than reducing the contrast.
The contrasted weight reads as foil-stamped lettering at 13 pt, and the swashes give a narrow label an elegant silhouette without a second element.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Set the house name at 13 pt on a 35 by 75 mm label, keep the product type in a 5 pt caps serif, and leave 6 mm of clearance so the swash finishes on the label.
Pre-production check
Foil on a tight loop can bridge; check a foil dummy at final size and open the tightest loop before the die is produced.
The heavy calligraphy earns a title page at 38 pt, and the contrast keeps the word elegant above a page of plates rather than shouting over them.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Set the title at 38 pt on an A5 title page, set the artist's name in a small caps serif at 10 pt, and leave 20 mm between the swash and the imprint at the foot.
Pre-production check
Coated stock holds hairlines but swells the shaded stems; print the title page on the intended paper and check the balance before the run.
