Tall heart-dotted looping script with shaded strokes and open loops
Butterline is a tall looping script in which the ascenders rise almost twice the x-height, the loops stay open, and a small heart replaces the dot on the i.

Visual anatomy & craft review
The capital B opens with a narrow loop that closes into a shaded stem, and the letters after it keep that narrowness: the u and the t stay small, the double l rises into two tall open loops, and the e and the r close their counters tightly against the joins. Weight alternates between shaded stems and thin joins, which gives the word a calligraphic pulse without the density of full contrast, and the heart over the i sits just above the x-height as the only closed shape in the upper half. The final e exits in a light stroke that lifts slightly. Terminals are fine but not hairline, which keeps the face printable at small sizes. The line-drawn leaves around the sample, the two tracked captions and the cream ground are presentation; the script is the word.

Concrete hierarchy, scale and production guidance tailored to Butterline’s stroke geometry.
The heart detail and the tall open loops give a small card a romantic register without printed ornament, and the loop heights fill a portrait card at a modest point size.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Set the message at 24 pt on a 105 by 148 mm card, set the sender in the same face at 12 pt, and leave 16 mm above so the tallest loop sits clear of the card edge.
Pre-production check
A heart tittle under 3 mm at 24 pt can close into a dot; check the proof at final size and raise the point size if the heart stops reading.
The tall loops give a menu header height without width, and the shaded stems keep the heading legible where an evenly thin script would fade on cream stock.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Set the heading at 26 pt on an A5 menu, keep the courses in a 9 pt serif at 12 pt leading, and hold 12 mm between the heading and the first course line.
Pre-production check
Tall loops can collide with a rule above the courses; check the proof at final size and remove any rule rather than shrinking the heading.
The romantic looped hand suits a celebration product, and the shaded stems hold up when the label is printed at 12 pt on a small box.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Set the brand at 12 pt on a 45 by 60 mm label, keep the flavour in a 6 pt sans, and leave 6 mm at the top so the tall l loop does not touch the border.
Pre-production check
Small labels on a roll can drift; check the second impression and hold the finest join at 0.3 mm before approving.
