Visual anatomy & craft review
The capital B is drawn as a large loop that rises above the cap line and closes into a thick shaded stem, and the letters after it alternate between heavy downstrokes and hairline joins: the i and the g stay narrow, the s reverses through a fine join, the t is crossed lightly and the e finishes into a curl. The underloop is the signature gesture: it leaves the last letter, drops below the baseline and runs back almost to the start of the word, which is what gives the composition its width without extra elements. Weight is heavy on the stems and hairline on the joins, so the face needs a decent stock to hold at 28 pt. The washed photograph behind, the black ink and the two small captions are presentation; the script is the word.

The heavy capital and the wide underloop let a single surname hold the centre of a large card, and the contrast keeps the letterforms distinct at 30 pt.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Set both names at 30 pt on a 130 by 190 mm card, set the details in a small caps serif at 8 pt, and hold 20 mm below the underloop so the details sit clear.
Pre-production check
A hairline underloop under 0.1 mm disappears in offset; ask for the printer's minimum line weight and thicken the loop rather than the stems.
The flourished hand turns a short name into a designed mark, and the wide underloop fills a landscape card without any additional ornament at 36 pt.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Set the name at 36 pt on a 148 by 105 mm card, set the age in a small caps serif at 10 pt, and leave 18 mm below the underloop so the number stays clear.
Pre-production check
An underloop that crosses the trim looks cut even when intact; check the proof at final size and shorten the loop rather than shrinking the name.
The contrast survives at 12 pt on a small label where an evenly thin script would fade, and the underloop gives the tag a finished base.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Set the greeting at 12 pt on a 40 by 70 mm favour tag, keep both names in a 5 pt sans beneath, and leave a clear 10 mm band at the top for the ribbon hole.
Pre-production check
A fine join printed small can break away from the stem; check the label at final size and thicken the join rather than reducing the point size.
