Tribal-horned extreme metal face with dripping points and a horned crest
Atherna is an extreme-metal face in which the letters grow horns and thorns, the joins drip downward and a crest sits above the word, so the mark reads as a tribal sigil rather than as type.

Visual anatomy & craft review
The A rises into two horned peaks, the T loses its bar to a crest, the h dissolves into a fan of thorns and the rest of the word interlocks through shared stems, all at a heavy weight with every edge cut to a point and drips below the baseline. The tribal geometry is the character: the horns curve rather than spike, which is what separates the face from a purely jagged black-metal style while keeping the same mass at 80 pt. Legibility is limited to recognition at large sizes, and the drips belong to the drawing rather than to a treatment. The dark ground, the gold ink, the skull behind, the small badges are presentation; the display face is the word shown and its caption.

Concrete hierarchy, scale and production guidance tailored to Atherna’s stroke geometry.
The horned mass reads as an emblem at 90 pt, and the crest gives the cover a mark that a plain logotype could not carry.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 120 mm square sleeve: set the mark at 90 pt across the centre, set the band name in an 8 pt caps serif at the foot, and keep 14 mm of margin so the horned peaks stay inside the square trim.
Pre-production check
Horned peaks printed near the trim look clipped; check the artwork at final size and scale the mark rather than trimming the points.
The dense horns screen-print as one silhouette at 90 mm, and the mass fills a chest panel where a legible logotype would leave gaps.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Screen a 300 mm chest print: set the mark at 90 mm, keep the thinnest points at 1.5 mm minimum, and stay 50 mm below the collar so the crest clears the yoke seam.
Pre-production check
A point under 1 mm closes on fleece; check a pull on the actual shirt and blunt the two thinnest horns rather than the whole drawing.
The sigil reads as a mark at 30 mm on a small sticker, and the crest keeps it recognisable in a rack crowded with square designs.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 60 mm die-cut sticker: set the mark at 30 mm, keep 4 mm between the horn tips and the cut line, and check that the drips do not run into the die edge.
Pre-production check
A die cut through a drip leaves a sliver that curls; check the cut file and shorten the drips rather than the horns.
