Sturdy stroke walls and open counters weed cleanly on adhesive vinyl, HTV apparel film, and cut cardstock.
Visual anatomy & craft review
Tiki Bongo is a chunky Polynesian-inspired display whose O bowls enclose spiral wave motifs, whose i stems carry curved carved ticks and whose stroke ends are rounded as though cut from soft wood. The letters are wide and bouncy, with uneven cap heights that give a totem rhythm, and the detail is coarse enough to survive carving, vinyl cutting and screen printing. Because the swirls sit inside the counters, the face needs about 20 mm before they resolve, and it should carry a short phrase on a sign or a cup rather than a label.

Concrete hierarchy, scale and production guidance tailored to Tiki Bongo’s stroke geometry.
Carved swirls read as a wooden totem at a party, which is a faster signal than a printed palm leaf. Wide bouncy capitals survive being cut in vinyl for a curved cup.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Invite A6, title 22 mm, details 4.5 mm, 10 mm margins. Cup wrap 200 x 90 mm, word 20 mm, 10 mm from the rim. Pool sign 800 x 300 mm, word 120 mm, 60 mm margins.
Pre-production check
Vinyl on a textured tiki cup does not adhere in the hollows of the swirls. Keep the artwork to the outer silhouette, use a cast vinyl with a clear border, and hand-wash one cup before the party.
Bouncy carved letters read as an island theme before a child can read the word, which is what a themed party needs from its signage. Chunky shapes survive being cut from card by a parent at midnight.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Banner letters 140 mm tall on 2 mm card, 3 mm hole at 10 mm from the top edge, 25 mm margins. Shirt print 200 x 120 mm, word 40 mm, 30 mm from the shoulder seam. Topper 130 x 110 mm, word 50 mm, 8 mm stick slot with 10 mm clear below.
Pre-production check
A parent-cut banner is never perfectly even, and uneven cap heights in the face make the run look sloppy rather than playful. Print a faint baseline guide on the reverse of each letter, and cut to the guide rather than by eye.
The face gives a small bar an ownable mark that works on a menu and a bottle without a mascot. Counter swirls read at 20 mm, which is the size a menu header holds.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Logo 100 mm wide, word 26 mm, 10 mm clear space all round. Menu 148 x 210 mm, heading 26 mm, drinks 8.5/12 pt, 15 mm margins and prices on a 6 mm right column. Label 70 x 95 mm, word 16 mm, abv 4.5 pt at 8 mm from the foot.
Pre-production check
Menu cards are laminated and wiped nightly with a wet cloth, and a laminate over a heavy dark fill shows scratches first. Use a matt anti-scratch laminate and check one menu after a week of service.
