Visual anatomy & craft review
The Dagoda is a formal flourished copperplate calligraphy script: a steep slope, strong thin-thick contrast, hairline exits that end in a long flourish and entry strokes that reach back over the preceding word. The hairlines are the design and they are the first thing to lose on textured stock, and the flourishes need generous side clearance. It needs roughly 28 mm for the hairline and the flourish to read, and it is best in one fine ink on smooth card, or a foil impression above 40 pt.

A copperplate script with long flourishes gives a formal wedding an engraved plate rather than a printed card. The hairlines hold at 28 pt on smooth card, and the flourishes let a long name read as composed rather than clipped.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Invitation 130 x 180 mm, names 28 pt with 16 mm flourish clearance, details 9/13 pt, 18 mm margins. Seating chart 400 x 600 mm, names 20 mm, 24 mm margins. Vow card 105 x 148 mm, text 9.5/13 pt.
Pre-production check
A 400 x 600 mm chart at 20 mm drops the hairline under 0.2 mm and the names print as broken threads. Keep the chart at 24 mm or print digitally on smooth stock, and proof one chart before the set.
A flourished copperplate reads as an engraved acknowledgement rather than a printed line. The hairlines hold at 24 mm, and one fine ink prints the card, the seal and the band in one order.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Card 85 x 55 mm, word 24 mm with 12 mm flourish clearance, details 7/9 pt, 8 mm margins. Seal label 38 mm round, monogram 22 mm, 3 mm die margin. Tissue band 300 x 60 mm, word 20 mm, 10 mm margins.
Pre-production check
A 300 x 60 mm tissue band at 20 mm creases through the flourishes and the name reads as a smear. Keep the word off the fold line, and wrap one box before the run.
A formal copperplate gives a spring celebration an engraved title rather than a typeset one. The flourishes hold at 30 mm on a card, and one fine ink prints the card and the welcome sign in one order.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Card A6, title 30 mm with 14 mm flourish clearance, note 8/11 pt, 14 mm margins. Welcome sign 600 x 400 mm, word 90 mm, 25 mm margins. Banner 1200 x 400 mm, word 140 mm, 25 mm safe edge.
Pre-production check
On a 600 x 400 mm sign the flourish runs past the printed area and gets trimmed. Keep the word inside a 25 mm margin with 14 mm extra to the left, and inspect one sign before hanging.
