Visual anatomy & craft review
Sorel is a slanted lyrical signature script with an expansive double-curled S loop, high-rising ascenders and clean monoline-shaded cursive that glides between letters. The loops extend above and below the word, so the layout needs head and foot room, and the even weight lets it foil and plot predictably. It needs roughly 20 mm for the S loop to read as a spiral rather than a blob, and it is a stationery and label face, best in one midnight ink on a warm gallery cream.

A lyrical signature reads as an artist's mark, which is what a gallery or a small maker wants on a card. The double loop gives a short name a sculptural opening.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Label 70 x 45 mm, name 10 mm with 6 mm headroom, 4 mm die margin. Card 85 x 55 mm, name 9 mm, 6 mm margins. Insert 105 x 148 mm, heading 16 mm, details 7/10 pt.
Pre-production check
The S loop rises above the cap line and gets clipped when a file is fitted to a label die. Measure from the top of the loop, and check one printed label before the run.
Looping signature script reads as a personal hand at a formal venue, and the even weight prints on textured card. The face holds a long name at 26 mm.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Invitation 120 x 180 mm, names 26 mm with 8 mm headroom, details 9/13 pt, 15 mm margins. Vow book 110 x 160 mm, cover 22 mm. Place card 90 x 50 mm, name 9 mm.
Pre-production check
A 9 mm place card holds this script on coated stock but fills on textured, and the loop closes. Check one card on the intended stock, and set names in a companion serif if it closes.
A sweeping signature reads as a written declaration, which is what an anniversary or valentine gift wants. The loops give a short message a romantic frame.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Card 120 x 170 mm, greeting 22 mm, message 8/12 pt, 14 mm margins. Print 210 x 297 mm, greeting 50 mm, 30 mm margins. Tag 40 x 70 mm, word 8 mm, hole 4 mm clear.
Pre-production check
A 40 mm tag cannot hold a double loop plus a punch, and the counter gets cut. Use the plain style on tags and keep the looped forms for cards and prints.
