Broad looped confectionery script

Visual anatomy & craft review
Smooth sits above Chocolate, and both words are built from a broad script with generous bowls: the S opens with a wide curve, the m and the o are almost circular, the h and the l rise into full loops with ball terminals, and the final e runs out into a long ascending stroke that lifts above the line. A second, lighter setting of the same family carries the caption at the foot, which shows how the face behaves at a smaller size. The ground is a photograph of poured chocolate with drips and drops caught mid-air, and the pale pink lettering sits over it with a soft shadow so it separates from the dark brown. The face is a confectionery script for packaging, labels and cards: it needs size to show the loops, and the ball terminals mean the layout has to leave room above and below.

Concrete hierarchy, scale and production guidance tailored to Smooth Chocolate’s stroke geometry.
A broad script with ball terminals reads as a sweet-tooth sign, and the pale ink on a dark board separates clearly in a dim room.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 400 by 250 mm board: set the word at 80 pt across two rows, keep 20 mm of clear ground beneath before the list at 14 pt, and hold 20 mm of border so the terminals stay inside.
Pre-production check
Ball terminals can clip on a framed board; print one at the final size and check both ends before the set.
A confectionery script names a gift box in a way a plain serif cannot, and the wide bowls hold their shape at a small label size.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 70 by 45 mm label: set the brand at 14 pt on one row, keep 5 mm of clear ground beneath before the contents at 4.5 pt, and hold 4 mm of margin on all sides.
Pre-production check
Wide bowls close up on a small die; print one on the real stock and check the o and the e before the order.
The script fits a dessert menu where the heading sits above a short list, and the broad letterforms balance a tall narrow format.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 130 by 210 mm menu: set the heading at 26 pt on one row, keep 20 mm of clear ground beneath before the courses at 9 pt, and hold 14 mm of margin on both sides.
Pre-production check
A long ascending exit stroke over a tall format can overrun; print one menu at the finished size and check the end before the set.
