Retro fat script with extrusion
Retro Blanche is a fat retro script in orange on a teal sunburst: heavy connected strokes, a strong slope, small loops and a solid dark extrusion behind every letter, so the pair reads as a painted sign from a mid-century diner.

Visual anatomy & craft review
The two words are stacked on an arc and the drawing is a brush script at maximum weight: the strokes swell, the joins are thick, and the terminals roll into small curls, while a hard extrusion steps down and left behind each letter, which gives the block depth without a gradient. Because the extrusion is solid and consistent, the lockup reads as one object rather than as a set of shadows, and the counters stay open enough that the word survives at a distance. The composition sits on a teal ground with a radiating sunburst, which pushes the eye to the centre, and two tracked captions above and below are set in a light grotesque. The palette is three flat colours, which is what a painted sign would use.

A fat retro script with an extrusion reads as a painted sign, and the hard shadow gives depth on a flat fascia where a soft drop shadow would look digital.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Paint a 1,500 by 500 mm fascia: the name at 180 mm cap height, a 12 mm extrusion, and the hours in a 30 mm grotesque. Keep 40 mm margins, paint three flat colours, and keep the extrusion direction consistent across every letter.
Pre-production check
Check the fascia at twenty metres, where a 12 mm extrusion can disappear; widen it to 18 mm. Confirm the 30 mm hours read at five metres and that the curls do not merge with the shadow at distance.
A retro script sets a fairground tone in one word, and the extruded letters read from the entrance gate where a thin script would be lost in the crowd.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
A2 portrait: the fair name at 130 mm cap height, the dates in a 20 mm grotesque, and a 6 mm border. Keep 30 mm margins, print three flat colours, and place the word on the sunburst centre so the arc reads.
Pre-production check
Check the poster at five metres, where the extrusion can close the counters; keep the extrusion under a fifth of the stroke width. Confirm the 20 mm dates read at three metres and that the border does not cut the curls.
A fat retro script prints as one screen plus an underlay, and the hard extrusion gives the graphic depth on fabric without a halftone.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 260 mm chest graphic: the phrase at 60 mm cap height, the date at 16 mm, and two inks. Keep the extrusion at 4 mm so the screen holds it and place the graphic 80 mm below the collar.
Pre-production check
Check the screen at actual mesh, where a 4 mm extrusion fills on a dark shirt; add the underlay. Wash-test one shirt and confirm the date stays legible after five cycles.
