Steeply slanted fine links with thick curved downstrokes
Bailenson runs steeply slanted fine links against thick curved downstrokes, the capital B curls far to the left and the terminal n carries large upper and lower loops that close around the word.

Visual anatomy & craft review
The downstrokes hold the weight, the links stay thin and steep, the entry curls away at the left and the last letter loops both above and below the line, closing the shape around the word. The steep slant is the character: the word leans hard enough to read as speed, which is why the sample sets one name alone. Because the loops and the entry both travel, keep 20 mm at each end and 18 mm between rows from 26 pt.

The steep slant gives a bag label energy, and the thick downstrokes stay solid at 20 pt on a 55 mm panel. The thick strokes also hold a bag label at one ink.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 55 by 80 mm bag label: set the roast name at 20 pt, keep 8 mm beneath for the lower loop, and set the weight in a 6 pt caps at the foot with 5 mm of clear ground. Keep the label tall.
Pre-production check
Thin links printed at 16 pt break on an uncoated bag; check the proof and keep the name at 19 pt or above. Ask for a plate proof of the label.
The leaning script suits a personal card, and the thick strokes keep a short line readable at 26 pt on an A6 sheet. The lean also keeps a note card personal.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print an A6 card: set the line at 26 pt across the upper third, keep 16 mm of clear ground beneath the loop, and leave the lower half blank for a handwritten message. Keep the card flat.
Pre-production check
A loop printed into the writing area is smudged by a pen; check the card and keep 12 mm of white beneath it. Keep the message on one line.
The slant reads across a counter, and the heavy downstrokes hold a two-word sign at 48 pt on a printed board. The slant also reads from a market counter.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 500 by 250 mm board: set the sign at 48 pt, keep 20 mm of margin so the entry curl stays inside, and set the prices in a 14 pt sans on a separate band below. Keep the prices on their own band.
Pre-production check
A steep script painted at 30 mm loses its slant; check the mask and keep the sign at 42 pt or above. Check the mask before painting.
