Thin handmade sans
Notebook is a thin handmade sans in near-black on a lined sheet: tall narrow letters with hairline strokes, a very large x-height, open counters and a slight irregularity in the stems, set as one word with a tracked label above and below in the same weight.

Visual anatomy & craft review
The word is set once, large, and the drawing is a handmade sans: the strokes are hairline, the letters are narrow, and the stems waver slightly, which keeps the face from reading as machine-drawn. The large x-height and open counters are what make it usable at text sizes as well as display, and the specimen shows that by setting the labels in the same face at a fraction of the size. Because the strokes are so thin, the face needs a clean ground and a decent print, and the plate keeps the page white with faint ruled lines behind, which is the honest context for a face sold for notebooks and planning. The palette is one ink, and there is nothing else on the plate.

Concrete hierarchy, scale and production guidance tailored to Notebook’s stroke geometry.
A thin handmade sans reads as considered and quiet, and the large x-height keeps a long brand name legible at the small size a tag or a pencil allows.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Set the mark at 16 pt on a tag, 11 pt on a spine and 70 mm on a poster, in one colour. Keep clear space equal to the x-height and avoid reversing it out of a busy photograph.
Pre-production check
Check the 11 pt spine mark on an uncoated stock, where a hairline can fill; keep the size at or above 10 pt. Confirm the poster mark reads at four metres and that the thin stems survive lamination.
A handmade sans gives a small magazine a personal voice at text size, and the open counters keep a long column readable without the formality of a serif.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
A5 magazine: the body at 9.5 pt with 14 pt leading, the headings at 20 pt, and a 14 mm margin. Print one ink on an uncoated stock and keep the measure near sixty characters.
Pre-production check
Check the 9.5 pt body on uncoated paper, where a hairline can break in the fibre; test a page on the stock. Confirm the leading holds the column and that the headings do not look lighter than the text.
A thin handmade sans gives a worksheet a neutral, unforced look, and the narrow letters fit a long instruction on one ruled line.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
A4 worksheet: the title at 18 pt, the instructions at 10 pt, and ruled guide lines at 12 mm. Keep 20 mm margins and print one colour on white so the sheet photocopies cleanly.
Pre-production check
Check the 10 pt instructions after a copier pass, where a hairline can drop out; keep the size at or above 10 pt. Confirm the guides align with the leading and that the title fits one line.
