Visual anatomy & craft review
La Rumba is a fine-pointed copperplate wedding calligraphy script with a large alternate set: a deep oval axis, a heavy shaded downstroke against a hairline exit, pointed entry strokes and several hundred alternates for the caps and final letters. The hairlines are the weakest element in print, and the alternates widen the word when a long tail is chosen. It needs roughly 24 mm for the pointed entry and the hairline exit to read, and it is best in one dark ink on smooth card, or foil above 40 pt where the hairline can still carry.

A fine copperplate with hundreds of alternates lets a formal suite sign the names with a chosen tail rather than a default one. The pointed entries hold at 30 pt, and one ink on smooth ivory keeps the hairlines alive where a textured card would break them.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Invitation 130 x 180 mm, names 30 pt with 12 mm tail clearance, details 9/13 pt, 15 mm margins. Order of service 105 x 148 mm, header 18 pt, text 8/11 pt. Table plan 400 x 600 mm, names 12 mm, 20 mm margins.
Pre-production check
A 12 mm table-plan name drops the hairline exit under 0.2 mm and the names print as broken threads. Keep the plan at 16 mm or print digitally on smooth stock, and proof one plan before the set.
A copperplate script reads as the maker's own hand rather than a wordmark, which is what a small atelier wants on its packaging. The alternates give the name a long tail at 24 mm, and one ink prints the band and the tag in one order.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Tissue band 300 x 60 mm, word 24 mm with 8 mm tail clearance, 6 mm margins. Hang tag 50 x 90 mm, word 12 mm with a 4 mm hole and 10 mm clear. Card 85 x 55 mm, word 16 mm, 5 mm margins.
Pre-production check
On a 50 x 90 mm hang tag at 12 mm the tail runs into the punched hole and the cord cuts the letter. Shift the hole 10 mm clear or raise the word to 16 mm, and test one tag before the order.
A copperplate script is the hand a love letter imitates, and the alternates let the greeting finish in a long sweep. The hairlines hold at 24 pt on a smooth card, and one warm ink prints the card, the seal and the band from one file.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Card A6, greeting 24 pt with 10 mm tail clearance, note 8/11 pt, 12 mm margins. Seal label 38 mm round, word 7 mm, 3 mm die margin. Ribbon band 200 x 30 mm, word 9 mm, 5 mm margins.
Pre-production check
A 38 mm seal at 7 mm fills the hairline into a bead and the greeting disappears under wax. Use an initial only on the seal, and print one sheet before the batch.
