Heavy narrow mixed case with long rectangular bowls and high straight ascenders
Gondens is an extreme condensed display sans: stems twice as tall as they are wide, counters reduced to slots, and flat terminals that keep a long word inside a narrow column.

Sturdy stroke walls and open counters weed cleanly on adhesive vinyl, HTV apparel film, and cut cardstock.
Visual anatomy & craft review
Gondens spans the card in a warm cream on a deep green ground, set in mixed case at a size that fills the width and leaves the top and bottom of the card nearly empty. The letters are squeezed to the limit: the o is an elongated ring, the d and the n have counters barely wider than the stems, and the s curves are shallow. The spacing is even and tight, so the word reads as a vertical texture rather than as separate letters, and the flat terminals meet the edges of the frame without ornament. A small mark and two credits sit in the corners at the top, a ruled band with a paragraph of explanation runs along the foot, and a globe ornament closes the composition. The face is built for narrow spaces: a poster column, a book spine, a label with a long name, and it fails when it is set small, because the slot counters fill in below about 14 pt.

Concrete hierarchy, scale and production guidance tailored to Gondens’s stroke geometry.
The condensed forms let a long title run down a narrow spine, and the same word fills a cover without a second cut of the family.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 210 by 297 mm cover with a 15 mm spine: set the cover title at 120 pt on two rows and the spine at 22 pt down its length, keep 30 mm of clear ground beneath the cover title, and hold 12 mm of margin inside the spine edges.
Pre-production check
Slots in the counters fill on a spine at small sizes; print one spine and look at it edge-on before the binding order.
The extreme condensation fits a long product name on a narrow label where a normal sans would need shrinking, and the tall stems give the bottle a vertical line.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 45 by 120 mm label: set the product name at 26 pt on one row, keep 10 mm of clear ground beneath before the volume at 5 pt, and hold 6 mm from the tallest stem to the label top.
Pre-production check
The label curve squeezes the letters at the edges; print one label and wrap it on the bottle before the run.
The narrow letters fit a long course title into a single line of a handout, and the plain weight still reads when a page is copied for a full hall.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print an A4 handout: set the course title at 34 pt on one row, keep 14 mm of clear ground beneath before the first heading at 12 pt, and hold 15 mm of margin at both sides of the sheet.
Pre-production check
Photocopiers thicken narrow counters into solid bars; copy one sheet on the machine that will be used and check the slots.
