Visual anatomy & craft review
Geek Trend is a wide cyberpunk display whose neighbouring letters fuse their horizontal crossbars, so EE and TR join into a continuous visor bar, and the geometry borrows from racing helmets and science-fiction interfaces. Because the joins are structural, the word reads as one machine panel rather than as separate letters, which means tracking must stay tight or the connection breaks. It needs roughly 40 mm for the fused bars to read as deliberate, and it is best in white on a saturated blue or reversed out of black.

Fused crossbars read as a racing visor, which is the reference a sim-racing or esports team borrows. The continuous bar makes a short team name look like one machine-cut plate, and the flat geometry holds on a curved helmet shell.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Helmet panel 120 x 60 mm, word 30 mm, 10 mm margins and 8 mm clear of the vent. Jersey chest 280 x 160 mm, word 65 mm, 40 mm margins. Carton 200 x 150 x 80 mm, word 40 mm on the lid, 20 mm margins.
Pre-production check
The fused crossbar has to bend over a helmet's compound curve and the join splits into two floating bars. Wrap the artwork flat across the flattest panel, and check one applied helmet decal before the kit run.
Visor geometry reads as an interface, which suits a hardware or gaming publication. The wide stance fills a cover line in one bar and the fused joins keep a long title inside the trim without shrinking.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Cover 210 x 297 mm, title 84 pt, cover lines 10/14 pt, 18 mm margins. Opener 420 x 297 mm, headline 120 mm, body 9/13 pt. Badge 100 x 140 mm, name 9 mm, role 5.5 pt, 8 mm margins.
Pre-production check
Badges are printed on 300 gsm and worn on a lanyard, and a fused bar at 9 mm reads as a grey stripe rather than letters. Set badge names in a plain sans and keep this face for the cover and opener.
Racing-panel letterforms read as a motorsport bill, which is what a spring track day sells. The single bar holds against a photographed car and the wide stance stays legible from a pit wall.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Poster A2, word 280 mm, date 22/28 pt, 30 mm margins and 20 mm trim. Pit sign 900 x 300 mm, word 150 mm, 50 mm margins and 25 mm frame clearance. Plate 120 x 40 mm, word 9 mm with 3 mm engraved margin.
Pre-production check
An engraved trophy plate cuts a fused bar into a hairline groove that fills with swarf on aluminium. Engrave only the separated letters, keep the bar version for print, and inspect one plate before the awards.
