Sturdy stroke walls and open counters weed cleanly on adhesive vinyl, HTV apparel film, and cut cardstock.
Visual anatomy & craft review
Capires is a tall display serif that crosses 1920s Art Deco high-waisted proportions with soft Art Nouveau curved tapers, so the bowls sit high on the stem and the shoulders curve away instead of breaking. The mixture means the face is elegant rather than geometric, and the thin tapers need size to hold their shape. It needs roughly 28 mm before the curves read as tapers rather than as thin faults, and it is a wedding and branding face, at its best in one ink on ivory or as a foil on matte board.

High-waisted Deco proportions with soft Nouveau curves give a wedding suite a period elegance without a script, which lets details share the same voice as the names. The tall forms stack a long couple name in one column and the tapers foil cleanly at 30 pt.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Invitation 120 x 180 mm, names 30 pt, details 9/13 pt, 15 mm margins. Menu 120 x 210 mm, header 16 pt, dishes 9/13 pt. Plan 420 x 297 mm, names 9 pt on a 12 pt leading, 15 mm margins.
Pre-production check
A 9 pt table-plan entry thins the tapers to a hair that fills on uncoated stock and the names blur together. Print the plan on coated card or raise it to 10 pt, and check one proof before the suite.
Art Deco proportions read as a heritage house, which is what a small perfume or patisserie brand wants on a shelf. The tall forms hold a long product name on a narrow carton face and the soft curves keep it from looking mechanical.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Carton 55 x 140 x 30 mm, name 20 pt, weight 6/8 pt, 8 mm margins. Box 200 x 150 x 80 mm, word 40 mm on the lid, 25 mm margins. Card 85 x 55 mm, name 10 pt, role 5.5 pt.
Pre-production check
A 6 pt weight line loses the tapered serifs and reads as a smudge under the product name. Keep the fine print in a companion sans, and check one assembled carton under shop lighting.
Nouveau-tapered Deco forms read as a period exhibition title, which is what a museum show is buying. The tall proportions fill a poster column and the single thin taper gives the lettering its period detail without illustration.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Poster A1, title 220 mm, dates 26/32 pt, 40 mm margins and 25 mm trim. Catalogue 210 x 280 mm, cover 54 pt, 20 mm margins. Label 100 x 60 mm, object 9 pt, date 7 pt, 5 mm border.
Pre-production check
Gallery labels at 7 pt under a 100 lux spot lose a tapered serif entirely, and the date reads as a line. Set label data in a wider sans, and check one label at 40 cm in the actual gallery light.
