High-contrast mixed-case letters with long curled swashes and spiral terminals
Black Forrest uses pale narrow-stroked mixed case over a dark book photograph: the large B and F carry looping left-side extensions, smaller letters end in tight spiral curls and the t stretches a long curved crossbar to the right.

Sturdy stroke walls and open counters weed cleanly on adhesive vinyl, HTV apparel film, and cut cardstock.
Visual anatomy & craft review
The strokes stay narrow with high contrast, the capitals open long loops on their left, the terminals curl into spirals and one crossbar reaches across the row so the title grows wider than its letter bodies. The spiral terminal is the character: the row reads as drawn calligraphy rather than a serif line, which is why the sample sets two rows. Because the curls and the crossbar travel, keep 22 mm at each end and 20 mm between rows from 28 pt; note the source name keeps Forrest while the title reads Forest.

Concrete hierarchy, scale and production guidance tailored to Black Forrest’s stroke geometry.
The long curls give a dark suite its gesture, and the narrow strokes keep two names light at 26 pt on heavy card stock. The narrow strokes also keep a two-word title light.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 130 by 180 mm card: set the names at 26 pt, keep 22 mm of clear card at each end for the loops, and set the venue at 9 pt in a light serif with 16 mm of clear ground below.
Pre-production check
A spiral terminal printed under 1 mm closes into a dot; check the proof and keep the names at 24 pt or above. Ask for a film at full size.
The curled lettering sets a gothic feature, and the narrow strokes hold a two-word title at 52 pt across a printed spread. The long crossbar also gives a feature title its width.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 210 mm spread: set the title at 52 pt on two rows, keep 18 mm between the rows for the curls, and set the standfirst at 10 pt in a serif on a 62 mm measure. Keep the body measure narrow.
Pre-production check
A long crossbar printed over an image edge loses its end; check the page and keep the title on the plain column.
The spiral terminals suit a moody invitation, and the fine mixed case keeps a short line readable at 30 pt on an A6 card. The spiral terminals also keep a moody card from looking plain.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print an A6 card: set the line at 30 pt across the upper third, keep 18 mm of clear card at each end, and set the details at 9 pt in a clean sans in the lower third. Keep the details in a plain face.
Pre-production check
Two curled rows on one small card tangle at the corners; check the card and keep the second line in a plain face.
