Elegant serif with elongated swash cap
Thomas is an elegant serif in cream over a portrait photograph, with a capital T whose swash runs back over the whole word and settles into a curl, ball terminals on the lower case and a fine hairline contrast through the rest of the letters.

Crisp hairline serifs shine on stationery, foil stamping, and packaging; add slight offset for small decals.
Visual anatomy & craft review
The name is set across the middle of a portrait and the capital T is the whole performance: its arm sweeps left in a long tapering swash, curls down and back, and ends in a small teardrop, while the rest of the word stays comparatively calm with short serifs and light stress. The lower case shows ball terminals on the h and the m, a single-storey a, and a round o with a hairline join at the top left, which keeps the word consistent with the swash rather than fighting it. The face is drawn for display and the sample proves it by using the word once at large size and setting everything else in small tracked capitals: a new-font badge, the foundry credit, and two corner notes about the alternates. The ground is a soft portrait with skin tones and grey drapery, and the cream type sits on the mid values so the swash does not need a plate behind it.

A swashed serif capital gives a formal invitation a drawn flourish without switching to a script, so the suite stays consistent when the details are set in a roman.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
A5 portrait: the names at 32 pt with the swash capital enabled, the ceremony details in a 9.5 pt roman, and the reply line at 8 pt. Keep 22 mm between the swash and the first detail line so the curl never touches the text.
Pre-production check
Check the swash at 32 pt in print, where the tapering end of the curl can drop below 0.2 pt and vanish; thicken the tip if the stock is uncoated. Confirm the 9.5 pt roman keeps a 4.5:1 contrast and that the curl clears the trim by 8 mm.
A serif with one swash capital reads as bespoke rather than corporate, and the single flourish keeps the mark reproducible in thread, foil and ink.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Set the name at 30 pt in caps and lower case with the swash T, then reduce it to a 20 pt version for the woven label by trimming the swash tail. Keep 6 mm of clear space around the mark at every reproduction size.
Pre-production check
Check the woven label at 20 pt, where a hairline swash disappears in the weave; specify a heavier thread and simplify the tail for that substrate. Confirm the embroidered version still reads as a T and that the mark holds at 12 mm wide.
A single swashed capital gives a profile title personality at large size, and because the rest of the word is restrained, the flourish reads as a signature rather than decoration.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Set the name at 120 pt at the top of a full-page opener with the swash running 40 mm into the left margin, the standfirst in a 12 pt roman in two columns beneath, and the photograph full bleed to the right. Keep 20 mm between the title baseline and the columns.
Pre-production check
Check the swash against the gutter, where an overhanging curl can be trimmed on the fold side; flip the layout if the margin is under 15 mm. Confirm the hairline joins of the lower case survive the press at 120 pt and read on the coated stock.
