Dense contrast signature with looped swashes
Signature is a dense contrast signature in black over a photograph of a hand writing: heavy shaded stems, hairline joins, a capital S with a loop that rises above the word and a final e whose exit curls back underneath.

Visual anatomy & craft review
The word fills the frame, and the face is built for a signature: the S opens with a large loop that sits above the x-height, the i and the g are narrow, the n and the a are dense round bowls, the t carries a high crossbar and the final e throws an exit that swings down and curls back under the last letters. The contrast is strong, with heavy shades on the downstrokes and hairlines on the joins, and the letters are packed tight, so a nine-letter word reads as one drawn mark rather than as handwriting. A drawn flourish above the word and another below frame it. The ground is a photograph of a fountain pen on paper, which sets the stationery context, and two tracked lines at the foot name the face. Signature is a formal script for branding, invitations and packaging, and it needs a large size where the hairlines still print.

Concrete hierarchy, scale and production guidance tailored to Signature’s stroke geometry.
A dense signature gives a small business a mark that looks signed rather than designed, and the looped swashes fill a card without an ornament.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print an 85 by 55 mm card: set the studio name at 18 pt on one line, keep 6 mm of clear ground beneath before the contact block at 6.5 pt, and hold 6 mm of margin so the lower curl clears the trim.
Pre-production check
Hairline joins fill on uncoated card; proof one card and check the thinnest stroke before the order.
The face gives two names the density of an engraved plate, and the upper loop keeps the line from looking like a ruled row of letters.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 130 by 180 mm invitation: set the names at 26 pt on one line, keep 20 mm of clear ground beneath before the venue at 9 pt, and hold 20 mm of margin on all four sides of the card.
Pre-production check
The exit curl can collide with the venue line; print one invitation at the finished size and check the gap before the suite.
A signature on a dark label reads as a house name written by its founder, and the heavy stems survive a small die where a hairline face would vanish.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 60 by 90 mm label: set the house at 16 pt on one line, keep 6 mm of clear ground beneath before the cocoa note at 5 pt, and hold 4 mm of margin on all four sides.
Pre-production check
A swash can wrap past a small label; print one on the real stock and check both ends before the order.
