Web-inset tall narrow display
Scary Spider is a display face on a lilac ground: tall uneven narrow capitals with small spiderweb networks drawn inside their upper and side openings, a pale pink offset shadow, bats and stars around the frame, and a script line beneath in black.

Sturdy stroke walls and open counters weed cleanly on adhesive vinyl, HTV apparel film, and cut cardstock.
Visual anatomy & craft review
The plate sets the face in two lines, and the construction is the useful part: the letters are tall and uneven, and the webs sit inside the openings rather than across the whole letter, so the word keeps a solid dark mass while the pattern reads as a texture in the negative space. The pale pink offset gives the type a hand-printed feel and separates it from a busy ground. That construction sets a large size floor, because the webs close first. The bats, stars and corner webs are supplied ornament, and the script line beneath is product copy. It suits a card, a shirt and a poster for a Halloween subject where the register is playful rather than frightening.

Concrete hierarchy, scale and production guidance tailored to Scary Spider’s stroke geometry.
A web-inset display names the season, and the narrow letters keep a long greeting inside a small card measure. It holds a long greeting.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
A6 card: the greeting at 28 pt, the details in a 10 pt sans, and the date at 9 pt. Keep 15 mm margins, print two colours on a light card and leave 12 mm at the foot for the address.
Pre-production check
Check the 28 pt greeting at home-print resolution, where a web closes; keep it above 1.2 mm. Confirm the details keep a 4.5:1 contrast and that the card folds flat.
A web display prints as costume kit, and the narrow forms fit a long phrase across a chest without shrinking. It fits a long phrase.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 250 mm chest graphic: the night at 55 mm cap height, the year at 22 mm, and two inks on a light shirt. Keep the finest web line at 2 mm and place the graphic 80 mm below the collar.
Pre-production check
Check the screen at actual mesh, where a 2 mm web can fill; widen it to 3 mm. Wash-test one shirt and confirm the offset stays registered after five cycles.
A web display holds a poster, and the tall uneven letters read at distance where a rounded face would look ordinary. It holds at poster distance.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
A2 poster: the event at 100 mm cap height, the details in a 20 mm sans, and the venue at 11 mm. Keep 28 mm margins, print two colours on a light stock and keep the webs above 3 mm.
Pre-production check
Check the A2 at five metres, where a web vanishes; keep only the larger networks at that distance. Confirm the 11 mm venue reads at two metres and that the bats clear the type.
