Visual anatomy & craft review
Rustic Wedding is a bouncy upright modern brush calligraphy: a loaded brush stroke with a nearly vertical axis, visible dry edges at the ends, joined letters and a soft bounce that lifts the middle of the word. The upright axis reads as formal and the bounce keeps it hand-made, while the dry edge is the finest element. It needs roughly 26 mm for the brush edge and the bounce to read, and it is best in one deep ink on smooth card, or a foil impression above 36 pt where the dry edge still holds.

An upright brush script reads as a hand-written invitation rather than an engraved plate, which is what a rustic wedding wants. The bounce holds at 28 pt, and one deep ink prints the invitation and the menu in one order.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Invitation 130 x 180 mm, names 28 pt with 10 mm bounce clearance, details 9/13 pt, 15 mm margins. Menu 120 x 210 mm, header 16 pt, courses 9/12 pt. Place card 90 x 50 mm, name 12 pt, 4 mm margins.
Pre-production check
At 12 pt on a place card the brush edge closes into a solid stroke and the name reads as a thick bar. Raise place cards to 16 pt, and proof one card before the suite.
An upright brush script gives a barn venue a hand-painted board rather than a printed sign. The script holds the name at 60 mm, and one ink prints the board and the cards in one order.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Board 900 x 600 mm, word 120 mm with 12 mm edge clearance, details 30 mm, 25 mm margins. Card 85 x 55 mm, word 16 mm, 5 mm margins. Door decal 200 x 300 mm, word 60 mm, 20 mm margins.
Pre-production check
A 200 x 300 mm decal at 60 mm traps air under the vinyl and the dry edges turn into bubbles. Use a wet-apply method, and apply one decal before the run.
An upright brush script gives a harvest dinner a written menu rather than a printed one. The bounce holds at 26 pt on a menu, and one ink prints the menu and the banner in one pass.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Menu 120 x 210 mm, header 26 pt with 10 mm bounce clearance, courses 9/12 pt, 15 mm margins. Table card 90 x 50 mm, name 12 pt, 4 mm margins. Banner 1200 x 400 mm, word 140 mm, 25 mm safe edge.
Pre-production check
On a 1200 x 400 mm banner the bounced baseline runs past the printed area and gets trimmed. Keep the word inside a 25 mm margin, and inspect one banner in daylight before hanging.
