Condensed display serif with sweeping leg
Rumbleside is a condensed display serif in cream over a black-and-white photograph of a castle: capitals with a sweeping R leg that curls under the following letters, fine joins, short serifs and an even rhythm, set as one large word with a small line above and a tracked line beneath.

Visual anatomy & craft review
The word spans the frame and the drawing is a condensed serif with one great gesture: the R leg sweeps outward and down, breaking the rectangle of the block and giving the word a start that the other letters do not need. That construction sets a moderate size floor, because the joins and the short serifs close first, and the photograph behind shows that the cream holds over a dark, detailed ground where a light face would break up. The small line above and the tracked line beneath are product copy that name the style. Because the letters are condensed and elegant, the face suits a masthead, a cover and a sign, and the leg needs clearance at the left or right depending on placement.

Concrete hierarchy, scale and production guidance tailored to Rumbleside’s stroke geometry.
A condensed serif with a sweeping leg gives a masthead a drawn signature, and the cream holds over a photograph at newsstand size.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Set the masthead at 100 mm cap height across 165 mm, the cover lines in an 8 pt sans, and the issue at 7 pt. Print one ink on a coated stock and keep 20 mm margins.
Pre-production check
Check the masthead at 100 mm, where a join can break; keep it above 0.3 mm. Confirm the 8 pt cover lines read at arm's length and that the issue survives lamination.
A condensed serif reads as a considered book cover, and the sweeping leg gives a short title motion on a dark image. The leg gives the motion.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Set the title at 90 mm cap height across 180 mm, the author in an 11 pt serif, and the imprint at 8 pt. Print two colours on a matte stock and keep 22 mm margins at the head.
Pre-production check
Check the title at 90 mm over the photograph, where a serif can merge with a light passage; add a soft shadow. Confirm the 8 pt imprint survives lamination and that the leg clears the trim.
A condensed serif gives a hotel a sign with restraint, and the sweeping leg reads as a painted flourish on a fascia. The leg reads as painted.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Fabricate a 900 by 300 mm panel: the hotel at 110 mm cap height, the floor in a 20 mm serif, and a 3 mm rule. Keep 22 mm margins and specify a matte finish.
Pre-production check
Check the panel at 110 mm, where the leg can collide with the frame edge; allow 15 mm. Confirm the 20 mm floor reads at three metres and that the rule clears the fixings.
