Visual anatomy & craft review
Ravelette is a smooth monoline-brush signature script with a double t crossbar, tall loops and an even slant, so a name reads as written quickly with a good pen rather than as a formal calligraphy. The monoline weight is what makes it plot, foil and embroider predictably, and the double crossbar gives a repeated letter a deliberate flourish. It needs roughly 16 mm for the loops to read and about 10 mm on a card, and it is best in one dark ink on cream or as a fine foil on matte board.

An even monoline signature reads as a personal mark rather than a logo, which is what a small maker puts on a label. The uniform weight foils and plots cleanly at 10 mm, and the double crossbar gives a short brand name one distinctive letter.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Invitation 120 x 180 mm, names 30 pt, details 9/13 pt, 15 mm margins and 10 mm trim. Plan 420 x 297 mm, names 9 pt on a 12 pt leading, 15 mm margins. Sign 600 x 900 mm, names 90 mm, 25 mm frame clearance.
Pre-production check
A small label with a looped script puts the descender of the last letter on the die edge and it gets cut. Position the name from the descender rather than the baseline, and check one printed label before the run.
A smooth signature script reads as written by the couple, which is what a modern wedding suite wants instead of a copperplate. The monoline weight prints evenly on textured card, and the tall loops hold a double surname at 28 mm on a 130 mm invitation.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Invitation 130 x 180 mm, names 28 mm with 6 mm headroom, details 9/13 pt, 15 mm margins. Sign 600 x 900 mm, names 90 mm, 25 mm frame clearance. Place card 90 x 50 mm, name 9 mm.
Pre-production check
Textured card breaks a 0.3 mm monoline at 9 mm on the place card and the name looks scratched. Print the place cards on smooth card or raise them to 11 mm, and pull one proof before the suite.
A quick signature script reads as a written note, which is what an anniversary or valentine gift is trying to be. The even weight holds in one ink on a 210 mm print and the loops give a short message a decorative frame without a second graphic.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Card 120 x 170 mm, greeting 22 mm, message 8/12 pt, 14 mm margins. Print 210 x 297 mm, greeting 55 mm, 30 mm margins and 20 mm trim. Tag 40 x 70 mm, word 8 mm, hole 4 mm with 6 mm clear card.
Pre-production check
A 40 mm gift tag puts a tall loop through the punched hole and the paper tears on the string. Keep 6 mm of clear card around the punch, and check one strung tag before the batch.
