Retro serif with sweeping curved details
News Ford is a retro serif in cream over a warm doorway photograph: fat letters with a moderate contrast, curved details that sweep out of the W and the O, and rounded serifs, with small capital lines above and below.

Visual anatomy & craft review
The word is set on one line across a lit doorway and the face is a retro serif with a handmade warmth: the stems are heavy, the joins carry a moderate contrast, the serifs are rounded blocks rather than flats, the N and the E keep wide proportions, the W has a top that sweeps up and over in a single curve, and the O is drawn as a fat oval with a curved exit. Those sweeps are the detail that places the face in the sixties rather than in a standard book serif, and they are used sparingly, only on one or two letters, so the word still reads cleanly. A small capital line names the product at the top and another closes the page at the foot. The ground is a photograph of a wooden door in warm light with a fragment of a poster at the side. News Ford is a serif for packaging, editorial titles, menus and signage with a retro tone, and it needs a short word at a large size and a warm, quiet ground.

A warm retro serif titles a cover about cooking without the stiffness of a classical face, and the sweeping W gives the title a signature.

A heavy serif printed over a warm photograph can flatten; proof one cover and check the contrast.
A retro serif gives a paper bag the look of a shop with a history, and the rounded serifs read cleanly on a narrow label.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 70 by 45 mm bag label: set the name at 16 pt on one line, keep 5 mm of clear ground beneath before the address at 5 pt, and hold 4 mm of margin on all four sides.
Pre-production check

A warm serif fills a menu board with character, and the heavy letters stay readable from the far end of a counter queue.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 600 by 400 mm board: set the heading at 100 pt on one line, keep 28 mm of clear ground beneath before the items at 20 pt, and hold 24 mm of margin on all four sides.
Pre-production check
