Letterform structure

The word fills the frame on one line, and the script is a modern calligraphy: the stroke goes from a thick downstroke to a hairline in the same letter, the M opens with a large loop that crosses back over itself, the a and the s close in round bowls, the l and the t rise into tall loops, and the final e throws a long tail that curls under the line. The joins are tight and continuous, so the word reads as a single ribbon, and the baseline is straight while the loops around it give the movement. A pair of drawn laurel branches frames the product line beneath the word, a small circular seal sits in the upper left, and two small blocks of tracked capitals name the style and the studio. The palette is a single gold over a soft, desaturated photograph. Masterline Calligraphy is a script for wedding stationery, certificates, packaging and logos, and it needs a wide measure, a dark ground and a size at which the hairlines survive.
