Large-loop contrast calligraphy
Outside is a high-contrast calligraphy in black on a pale street photograph: hairline joins, heavy shades, and two capitals whose loops open so wide that they carry the whole word.

Visual anatomy & craft review
The word runs the width of the sheet, and the construction rests on the capitals: the O opens as a wide thin oval that encloses the following letters, the t is a fine cross with a high bar, the s and the i are small and the d and the e close the word with a soft exit, so the first two letters occupy almost half the line. The stroke swells heavily on the downstrokes and thins to a hairline on the joins, the slant is light and the ascenders are tall, which is what gives a single word the shape of a drawn ornament. The ground is a pale photograph of a plaza, and the black lettering sits on the lightest part, with two tracked lines at the foot naming the face. Outside is a calligraphy for covers, invitations and packaging: it needs wide margins for the loops and a large size where the hairlines still print.

Concrete hierarchy, scale and production guidance tailored to Outside’s stroke geometry.
An oversized capital loop gives two short names a decorated shape without an ornament, and the high contrast reads on a white card.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 130 by 180 mm invitation: set the names at 26 pt on one line, keep 20 mm of clear ground beneath before the venue at 9 pt, and hold 22 mm of margin so the loop is not trimmed.
Pre-production check
The wide loop can reach the trim; print one invitation at the finished size and check both ends before the suite.
A calligraphy with a dominant capital makes a cover look drawn rather than typeset, and the high contrast holds on a pale photograph.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 230 by 300 mm cover: set the cover word at 88 pt on one line, keep 26 mm of clear ground beneath before the cover lines at 11 pt, and hold 24 mm of margin on all four sides.
Pre-production check
Hairline joins over a photographic ground can vanish; print one cover and check every connector before the run.
A single confident word fills a board as an ornament, and the high contrast still reads at the distance from which a guest arrives.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 500 by 350 mm board: set the word at 120 pt on one line, keep 24 mm of clear ground beneath before the names at 22 pt, and hold 26 mm of margin on both sides.
Pre-production check
A hairline stroke scaled to a board can look weak; print one at the final size and check the weight across a room before the set.
