Fat retro script with an inline highlight and a heavy slant
Durlane is a fat retro script in which the strokes swell, a thin inline runs along the middle of every stem and the joins stay heavy, so a name reads as a hand-painted bakery sign from the 1980s.

Visual anatomy & craft review
The D opens a heavy loop, the u keeps two thick stems, the r swells an arm, the l rises on a fat stem, the a closes a wide bowl and the e turns a heavy eye, all at a brush weight with an even slant and an inline drawn inside the thick strokes. The inline is the character: it splits each fat stroke into two bands, which is why the sample sets a single name at large size and lets it carry the whole image. It ships with a set of food illustrations, but the type stands alone. The dark green ground, the croissants, the coffee cup and the small script credits are presentation; the red display name is the face.

The fat script gives a small bakery a painted signboard feel, and the inline holds at 60 mm on glass in one light colour.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Cut a 700 by 250 mm vinyl sign: set the name at 60 mm, keep the inline as a gap of 3 mm, and leave 30 mm of border so the tail of the last letter finishes on the panel.
Pre-production check
An inline cut under 2 mm is impossible to weed from vinyl; check the cut file and widen the gap rather than shrinking the letters.
The fat strokes cut as a single connected shape, and the scored inline gives the cake topper its fine detail at 45 mm in card.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Cut a 180 mm topper: set the name at 45 mm, keep every stroke at 6 mm of material, and run the inline as a scored line rather than a cut so the shape stays whole.
Pre-production check
Cutting the inline through the card splits the letter; check the file and score the line instead of cutting it.
The retro script gives a bakery food feature warmth, and the inline still holds at 64 pt over a plain ground in one colour.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print an A4 spread: set the header at 64 pt across the top, set the standfirst in a 10 pt sans beneath, and keep 18 mm of clearance so the fat descenders do not touch the copy.
Pre-production check
An inline printed at 64 pt can fill in on uncoated stock; check the proof and keep the header at 70 pt or above.
